With Kickstarter beta access on GOG.com!

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is becoming one of the biggest, most successful Kickstarter campaigns in history.

Straight from the under the watchful eye of Koji Igarashi, one of the godfathers of the genre, comes the newest exploration-focused, side scrolling platformer with RPG and crafting elements. In short, it's shaping up to be the biggest Metroidvania release in recent memory - already surpassing its original Kickstarter goal by sixfold. As of right now that is.

We're huge fans of IGA and Castlevania, so when we heard that Koji Igarashi was returning to the genre we knew we wanted to work with the team to play our part in getting this amazing spiritual successor out there, completely DRM-free, with our signature kind of customer love.

That's why we're excited to announce that we'll be supporting the upcoming release with DRM-free versions to all Kickstarter backers of the game pledging $28 or more!

Everyone who backs the project at the $60 tier (or higher) will receive not only a DRM-free digital copy of the game, but also exclusive backer-only content and access to the beta, all right here on GOG.com.

You can make your pledge over on Kickstarter, and stay tuned for future backer updates with more details on how to get started with your access to the beta.

SeduceMePlz: The update about GOG says: But I take that to mean that you'll be able to choose a disc with a DRM-free GOG copy on it. Not sure about that tho.

EDIT: Hmm... I suppose a GOG disc version might include a GOG code to enable Galaxy multiplayer and other features... ? Still only one full copy, as the disc would be single-player only without the code, but you'd have access to the digital version, too, I guess.

tammerwhisk: Anyone know how the physical tiers would work with GOG?
Just in case you missed it, here is what the Kickstarter FAQ has to say about physical GOG copies:

PHYSICAL GOG DISCS will contain GOG's DRM-free installer. You will receive one GOG key per physical copy. Since your key is emailed early, you will not receive the key with the disc. The GOG key may be required to access content such as updates, patches, and multiplayer modes. The physical disc and the key constitute a single copy of the game.
Oh yeah!! I'd like to back this but I'll have to wait.

I know where I'm getting this game when it comes out :D
Looks like it just took the crown for most funded videogame on kickstarter (ignoring paypal donations).
13 more hours left.
Nevermind; thanks to Starmaker below for clarifying.

undeadcow: Very odd... am I mistaken or did the Bloodstained Kickstarter suddenly remove most references to GOG? GOG is no longer listed in any reward tiers.
GOG was never listed in any reward tiers, because it's impossible to change a tier's description once people have pledged for it. GOG is like everywhere on the main page, so don't worry.
low rated
Great! Even the prequel mini game has been funded! But somehow, i doubt the dungeon thing will make it in time (almost 300,000 for 12 hours deadline).

Really, now, since i mentioned it, what on earth is just a "roguelike dungeon"? First time i came in contact with this term, was in Necrodancer trailer, what does it mean, exactly?

I guess a randomly-generated dungeon.
Re: 5M goal:
The paypal total was $150k as of yesterday's update, and today is payday in the US. We'll make it.

Great thing! Adds to replayability. But something tells me even if this is not met by funding, somehow they will end up implementing that, in the end. Even though a stable dungeon is nothing short of spectacular, like Sotn.

I am hyped with this. Even if only by a single name. Michiru! She might not be the hottest chick around, but the beauty of her work is like divine! Where did i bury that treasure chest with those 26 CDs of castlevania osts, music and remixes???

And that live concert, oh, that event...

Now looking after the $5.5mm goal. That's quite a daunting task with only 7 hours left, but who knows? I think the alternate costume will be more likely unlocked.

Go team IGA!!

Over $5,000,000 amazing :)
Still 6 hours remaining.
Looks like all the goals were hit, suprisingly.
