As the title says. It's time to lift the region-lock, GOG.
Give them 6-8 weeks to realize.
Great. Germans are now free to expose themselves to the utter garbage that is Blood 2. Rejoice!!!

Absolutely the worst of the Lithtech engine games but garbage is a bit harsh innit? I had SOME degree of fun with it back in its day at least.

Obviously nothing beats Shogo ofc.

I mean, I'd give it a 3, maybe a 4/10 if I were feeling extremely generous, so if you're going by the scale that utter garbage is only 0 or 1/10, then it's not that. It's still a game that can be played and finished and an FPS which is my top genre. But it's still one of the worst FPS games from that era. It needed at least like half a year more in the oven to even start feeling finished.

Not to mention the entire thing feels like they were making a completely different game and decided to put a Blood skin on it at the last minute. Coming from the first game, it was a total disgrace and disaster.

LOL. Interesting choice for a screenshot.

Yes, no argument there. The first Blood is on a totally different plane of existence.
If you ask me i am more annoyed they cancelled the Shogo expansion/mission pack but they released the one for Blood 2.

Eh, I thought it was alright...I like me some jank/oddness in my games sometimes. I agree that the first game is better tho.
I don't think "Blood 2" is garbage, although worse than the first one. It's mindless fun, but IMHO too many (partly obscure) weapons that you have to handle.
It's in my library though (although I'm from Germany); don't remember how or when it got there! ;-D

I loved a bunch of the weapons(including the phantasm orbs), but the stupid bone leeches can go die in a fire.
Unless Atari tries to get the game rated by the USK or Nightdive finally releases a remastered version of the game (with the classic one as bonus) the region-lock will sadly not go away. It sucks that there are more and more delisted games still "trapped" because of no official USK rating and it seems they all won't get one because the publishers just don't care.

More proof that 'ratings boards' are a sad joke and need to either be vastly restructured or (better yet) go the way of the dodo.

This.
The game never received a USK rating (in fact, there has never been entered a corresponding request to the USK, since the devs/publishers (correctly) anticipated, that it wouldn't get one), but to be sold to German customers (even more so in an online store with no age verification), it would need one.

An age rating by the USK is not necessary. On Steam there are two ways. Either the game has an USK rating or it has a rating which is generated by Steam's content survey. The predecessor here also doesn't have an age rating by the USK, but on Steam you can read:

"18

Drastische Gewalt

Age rating for: Germany"

That's why it can be offered and won't be removed. You can read this article here for more information:

https://www.heise.de/hintergrund/Alterskennzeichen-auf-Steam-Die-wichtigsten-Fragen-und-Antworten-9963756.html

If the EGS, GOG and other stores copy Steam's content survey system and have the OK by the BzKJ, then games without an USK rating and without being indexed can be offered with a rating by the store.
