Tannath: Maybe. I'm not so sure the problem with The Witcher 3 was strictly related to this though. Remember the whole authorized resellers thing just before it released? It might still be related to that.
Yeah, I do remember the authorized reseller issue specifically with Greenman gaming but in all this time GMG has been acquiring and selling TW3 despite the gifting restritctions so I don't really see it as the reason. Besides, Destro also confirmed that TW3 was temporarily gift locked due to fraudulent transactions.

Konrad: [...] we've all been anxiously waiting for. Here's what's new:
Better late than never i guess but guys, please, we need a bit more disparency & communication from your side, especially when there are serious issues with the site like stolen accounts etc! Agreed, Rome hasn't been built in one day, but at least the fortifications were built from the first day! ;-)

edit: transparency is the word, not disparency! d'oh! :-)

moonshineshadow: First: I appreciate that you implemented these features. So thanks!

But can you please implement a feature to get rid of persons on your contact list? I really hoped clearing a conversation would also mean that the person is no longer in this long and unclear chat contact list... But since it does not do that, please implement something to manage that.

Also: Does this fraud thing mean you are lifting the worldwide gifting restriction?
This too.

amrit9037: thank you.
But I have a little problem.
I can't see who sent me friend request.
How to fix that?
avatar
Johny.: What do you mean - where are you trying to get that info? You should see friends requests on Account > Friends page. Is it not there? Also, when searching for a friends you should see that user invitation is pending and you can accept it (click on the + on Friends page).
For some of us, the friends page has been broken for months. Maybe he has the same problem.

Anyway, nothing in this bunch of updates changes the "brokeness" of the Friends page.
I am supremely happy to see all this finally implemented. I alredy put the blocking option to good use. I'm tempted to say something mean about how long it took you, but better late than never I guess, so I'll just thank you for getting things done. I guess your top men came finally came back from that black ops mission in Bolivia ;)

Still, as glad as I am to see ome matter settled, I still urge you to work on your communication. It really can't be that much of a bother to keep us well updated, and to provide official announcements when major issues occur.

Here's an example of how communication with a company like GOG, who has many passionate supporters, should have went:

Dear GOG Community,

GOG has been the target of many fraudulent credit card transactions. As an immediate stopgap, we have halted gifting from the most heavily-stolen games. They are listed here.

We know that you guys love to gift games to your friends and hold cheerful giveaways that really give this site a friendly atmosphere, so we are working diligently on a fraud protection scheme. We'll be discussing the most robust, but also non-intrusive, ways of combatting this. Once we have decided what we'll be doing about it, we'll get to work on implementing it.

We hope we can get something in place in the next 6-12 weeks. Please bear with us while we make the site safer for you.

As a reminder: Nobody sells GOG keys. If you purchase a GOG key from another distributor, you may or may not lose that game if it was purchased with a stolen credit card. Unfortunately, we do not have a system in place to alert you if your game is stolen nor is it priority to make that system at this time. We will be focusing on stopping the fraud, not alerting those who have purchased fraudulently purchased games.

As always, it's an honor to have such devoted and kind customers such as yourself.

Sincerely,
Your Friendly Neighborhood GOG Team
Hi Konrad, is there a change to get two-step security here at some point? :) For example using Google Authenticator? :) Or just using mail like Steam does?
Let's be totally honest now. To GOG, as a business, the passionate users are just a vocal minority.

Yeah.
That's where GOG Bear pops up.
Don't even recommend me another browser as I have tried it on half a dozen browsers and on GOG Galaxy too.
It's been broken for me since start of this feature.
I thought it will eventually get fixed but it never got fixed.

Hey Knee. Why do you say that? Your statement somehow got me curious :)
Thanks!

Oh - I know this bug. I wouldn't recommend you another browser, cause they never help with GOG Bear - it's server error. ;) This one is one of top priority ones, so it will get fixed. It's complicated stuff. :) Sorry. :( There's a forum topic about it somewhere.

can you please at least tell me who sent me request? :P
Thanks Top Gogs.
One thing about clearing conversations: can you remove the users from the list too?

Question to those that have tried the "Block User" feature without using the "Clear Conversation" - if one unblocks said user, does the conversation history re-appear in their chat?

I'm sorry, it's been almost 4 months since the NAS was introduced. If this is top priority but hasn't been fixed yet, I wonder what the ETA looks like for things GOG doesn't consider top priority; don't dare to even wonder about those that aren't a priority to begin with.
