Ok why the fuck is everyone assuming they will implement always online DRM and microtransactions in the classic games?

I've read the webpage and nothing implies that?

And why the fuck should I assume the opposite? It's Blizzard, it's a just a monstrous corporation that wants to squeeze users, nay, "customers" to get as much money as they can. "Gaming", for Blizzard and me, means two completely different things nowadays...

nightcraw1er.488: Ha, hahha, mwuhhahaha. What they in fact mean, is they want to take their old games which have made them vast amounts of money, whack a widescreen mod on it, then resell it for vast amounts of cash again, whilst linking them all up to the real money auction houses and drm riddled software.

If anything these fuckwits should be legally banned from touching any old material, but unfortunately IP laws allow this kind of underhand theft off dumb people.

My opinion, stop buying from them full stop.
My respect to you, good sir. I couldn't have put it better in words, myself. Besides, at least Diablo 2 is just fine, even without widescreen, on widescreen...

Gnostic: Multi player is not what I enjoyed the most from old Blizzard games, Single Player games do.
This. +1.

bela555: Diablo 2 needs auction house and constant Internet connection.... ohh wait a minute :/
Actually, the ONLY thing Diablo 2 really needs, is a small update to enable within SINGLE player, all ladder exclusive content.

Poor soul... You bought *that*?
I can see those Diablo 2 and original starcrafts games on your battle.net account going bye bye!

"Here, have a new one, with smashier graphiks and coolio other things you don't need, plus we raised the price. Isn't that awesome?"

Yea.
Go fuck yourself, blizzard/activision/owner of king.

Elmofongo: Ok why the fuck is everyone assuming they will implement always online DRM and microtransactions in the classic ?
Well, it's pretty logical to do so. They plan on doing these updates in order to sell more units of those old games. All of them were made with multiplayer and they were played a lot in this mode, so attaching them to the new Battle.net, reinvigorating the ladders and competition for those games seems logical.
As much as i enjoyed single-player modes for SC:BW and W3, i had most fun by playing them multiplayer.
Micro-transactions on the other hand... No way. There is no possibility of implementing it into those old games, maybe Diablo 2 Auction House, but i don't think so, as they had bad experiences with D3 one.

Not on GOG-NO Buy
DRM-NO Buy
Silly cosmetic upgrades like Widescreen-NO Buy

there are 99% chances i wont buy it
As good as the idea sounds, I've got my Warcraft 3 Battle Chest.... so I'm set for life!

The amount of mods that continue to pump out for that game is ridiculous. Hell, even old school Dota is still fresh in its classic glory.

In short, there's no 'restoring' required, and the games are still 'glorious' to this day.

Well, i don't see how you can not care about multiplayer. Most of them were popular so many years due to multiplayer. Brood War is still played competitively, there are still amateur tournaments going on, and, as W3 goes, there are still official tournaments.
In all honesty, I'd love to see a modern remake of Blackthorne and Rock'n'Roll Racing. Poligonal graphics and everything.

As for the other games, the ones Blizzard is interested in bringing back, well, as I've been playing a lot of Diablo 3 lately, I couldn't help but notice that the game pretty much recreates a lot of content from the original Diablo 1.

So, I'd love to see the entirety of the game remade in D3's engine. Maybe a new game/remake or a free update to D3 where you can revisit the original game, with it's plot, quests, enemies, bosses, etc.

At the very least, I'd love to see past incarnations of Diablo himself (from D1 and D2) as new secret/uber bosses in D3.
Not purchasing old Blizzard games unless they include trading cards and badges to be crafted!!11

I can understand the pessimism but geez, calm down already. Remember several months back when people were harping on Bethesda for being married with Steam and they would never come to GOG? Look how that turned out. Wouldn't it be more logical to wait and see what Blizzard does first, actually SEE the results first and THEN respond?

Or is frothing at the mouth and filling your posts with as many "f" words as possible all the rage whenever someone mentions Blizzard?

It's probably best to actually reply to the person you're talking about. What's the worst they can do? Get sour at you for telling them off? :3

Everyone likes to argue lol.
