HijacK: Welcome to the real world where 99.9% of people do that. Yes? No? Maybe so?
I mean, if Blizzard annoys you, I shudder to think what you're feeling about corrupt corporations that instead ruin the lives of millions of people and maybe even practice slavery in third world countries.
If it were a thread about corporate slavery in third world countries then my comments would be about that but it's not so I'm now going to comment on the mass censorship by blizzard trying to cover up their recent controversy.

They've gone against their own forums rules to delete threads or ban people. I've gathered a few links to illustrate this as you can see most of them have been erased.

This is some serious banhammer. Now everyone wants to know who Delby is and why you can't talk about him.

Spectre: stuff
My post was meant to show that there are shittier things going down in the world. I'm not here to argue whether Blizz is doing something bad or not, or whether it is moral to take judgement on them and not on others.

mobutu: blisard is doing nothing more than exploit people stupidity, so it's not their fault per se. The fault and the root of the problem is people being stupid.
Yeah, blame the victim, why not? It's perfectly safe. Don't want to piss off the predators.

It is not blaming the victim. It is pointing the logical. If no one would buy their games or pay subscriptions they would lose all power. With corporations it is the customer who is to blame every time they succeed on doing something wrong.

And if women wore chastity belts, they wouldn't get raped. It's just logic. If people were already dead they wouldn't subsequently die. It's just logic. If people didn't have tongues then they wouldn't get fat from licking ice cream. It's just logic. If people wouldn't go in the water, they wouldn't get eaten by sharks. You are starting to sound like one of those kinds of people who want to shove their ideals down everyone's throats. Not to mention you seem to have no grasp on economics. It is the duty of the customers to ask for Blizzard's shit to stop, but if they continue encouraging them then it is their fault that things have gone this far. I bet you felt like writing "womyn" in stead of "women". Because I don't see any reason why equating enablers with rape victims unless you are that kind of person.

Even if all the customers boycotted the product, the company is still responsible for creating the steaming pile of shit and thinking people would be so stupid as to buy it, i.e. they're scam artists and it's the companies fault that it's a scam artist, not the customer's fault. It's just logic.

But if people are as stupid to buy a steaming pile of shit then it is their fault. Stupid people must be held accountable for their actions.
I stopped playine online games after mmmh 7 years mostly playing Ultima Online (before that I played Meridian, Everquest and the last one was WoW). One day I asked myself 'Wtf ar you doing? Wasting your time away*
Because that was it. Grinding your avatar for skills, so you could beat some *quests* or be better than the poor soul doing the same as you.
I don't have anything against grinding (playing JRPG) but its nice to reach the final The End.
While I don't own any of Blizzard's games that have come out after Warcraft 3 as I don't care for their newer game distribution models, I always loved the Blizzard games that I have owned and played. I have mixed feelings about them nowadays but there's one thing I don't have mixed feelings about. I don't have mixed feelings about morons getting pwned for cheating in online video games after ruining other people's experiences, and I shed no tears for any developer or company developing tools for use in online cheating. Blizzard could run over them with a truck, backup over their bodies to check, then do a donut on them and the gaming world would only be a better place.

Wah wah wah, Blizzard stole our source code that was intended to fuck up the enjoyment of legitimate gamers playing their games online wah. Play with fire and sometimes ya get burned is the take home lesson there.

I'd almost consider buying one of Blizzard's games and not even play it just to support their efforts to mash some heads of morons that ruin gaming for all of the legitimate gamers out there, just to pat them on the back. Too bad they don't have real life Yamato cannons hovering the earth to take out the scumbags.

Frozen Throne was the last game from Blizzard I got and it's awesome, really gives Warcraft 3 the additional kick it needed.
After that, it all went down...

I never got a chance to play that. I got to the last level of WC3 and could never get past it despite trying about a million times. I even looked at strategy guides etc. and ended up concluding that making a game impossibly difficult to play was just not fun so I never finished the every end of the game and kind of lost interest in it as it didn't seem to matter what you did in the level, it forced certain death on you at regular intervals. A friend of mine owns Frozen Throne on CD/DVD that would probably let me borrow it if I were inclined but I've never felt the urge due to the impossibility encountered at the end of the main game.

When WoW came out, I was more or less an extreme workaholic at the time and didn't have much time for games overall but definitely could not dedicate my life to playing any particular title. As a result I have never played WoW at all because the whole nature of the game and its subscription based business model is that the game becomes a bigger hobby you have to regularly put time and effort into in order to get your money's worth in an ongoing basis and that's not something I was willing to spend money on nor had the personal time to commit. Nowadays I've got plenty of time for games/hobbies/interests but still don't want to dedicate that much time to a single game prolonged over time. Additionally nowadays I generally spend $3 or less for the majority of games I buy as a one time purchase expenditure and can't remotely fathom paying $20+ per month every month for one single game, so the cost to benefit ratio just doesn't work for me. So that pretty much has kept WoW outside of my realm of interest.

It took them forever to put out Starcraft II and while I looked forward to this sequel, the way they integrated online-only DRM and cloud features into the game really put me off. They followed suit with Diablo III from what I understand, so I don't plan to ever buy their newer games even though I've never had a personal bad experience.

I think Blizzard makes great games, I just have no compelling reason to buy them with the myriad of other great and fun games on the market that better match my expectations as a gamer.

Elmofongo: The reason for this cartoony and colorful graphics is because of the whole mindset that "the more style-lized and cartoony and colorful are graphics are, the more timeless it will look" But I personally disagree with that. These are the people that just refuse to see any other style other than cartoony and colorful.
Heck, the true main reason they do this look is because it's faster and thus cheaper to pull it off. Admittedly I think sometimes this cartoony Blizzard look just works and undeniably it increases readability which is particularly great in an RTS like StarCraft II but let's be honest, ultimately it boils down to maximizing revenue by reducing production costs.

Wasn't there an option to set the difficulty of the campaign in Warcraft 3?
If yes: Did you play it on easy and still didn't make it through the last mission?

I'm really bad at RTS, usually play my games on easy the first time anyway and I didn't have a problem with the campagin, I never went far into Starcraft's campaigns though due to the lack of difficulty options.
