They keep doing it, people keep coming, spending money over a some sort of social-interaction-addiction,
I don't think this will put a slight mark in Blizzard reputation. They have done a lot of ludicrous things over the patch and expansion but nothing happen.

People with addiction = Sheep
Eh, this doesn't surprise me. Blizzard's been a creatively bereft company getting by on nostalgia and taking other peoples' ideas and turning them into games for dummies for years now.

Hearthstone - Magic for Dummies.
Overwatch - TF2 for Dummies.
HotS - Dota for Dummies.

I haven't cared about Starcraft since Brood Swarm and Warcraft has been a dead IP for anything other than WoW, a game in which I've never played, nor ever been interested in playing anyway.

I don't even wanna talk about Diablo 3.

Blizzard's one of those companies I usually never plan on giving my money to, unless at a steep discount.

blotunga: Yes, the Warcraft lore is great, but the game itself can't keep me hooked because I hate grinding.
WoW hasn't been a grinding game in years. Nowadays you could say you have no interest in the game. That is a legitimate reason to not play it, but saying it's grindy in nature is simply an old excuse that hasn't been valid since the old days of Wrath of the Lich King.

OK I understand Hearthstone and HOTS being DOTA and MTG for dummies.

But Overwatch is TF2 for Dummies?

TF2 has no depth at all. What ever strategic depth that game had is wasted on the fuckin hats and gear system that increases stats such as firing speed, damage, reload speed, etc.

Elmofongo: You wish for the Art Department and Music Department of Blizzard to burn for this aswell?

Klumpen0815: Their talents are better used elsewhere. Under own or better management for example.

I have no love left for my formerly favourite game studio Silicon Synapse / Blizzard.
Oh so the former devs of the first 2 Diablo games, Blizzard North.

Are you saying their talents were better elsewhere? Because yeah Torchlight games certainly captured the essence of the old school Diablo games.

Oh wait no they don't Not with that hideous art style :P

And people complained that Diablo 3's art style was too cartoony and colorful :P

And these are the same people that left Diablo 3 to play Torchlight 2 for that very reason :P

Well, last time I tried it was almost 10 years ago.. so yeah, it's hard to tell what happens today there.

Gear in TF2 affects stats now? O_o

It's pretty broken. I was playing yesterday and there was this spy that had a knife that was over powering him way too much. He was wrecking people left and right. I am afraid to think what other bonuses his other gear had.

Touché

I don't know what it is with those cartoon graphics today either.
Diablo 1 with the Beelzebub HD mod looks better to me than most current hack'n'slays.
To me, a colourful happy world where death surrounds you like a happy red cloud is way more psycho than something that is grim and serious overall.

blotunga: Most MMOs are crappy grindfests. I guess they are fine for people with lots of spare time, but for me they hold no value. I like story driven games, where I feel that things that I do affect the world around me, not games where I go out and kill the same monsters 1000000 a times just because I need to get one more piece of armor. So yay for The Witcher 3 and nay for Wow, Diablo 3 etc.
You apparently don't even play Diablo 3.

Diablo 3 isn't a grindfest. Three or four hours on clean char and I can max it.

Please don't spout misinformation.

The reason for this cartoony and colorful graphics is because of the whole mindset that "the more style-lized and cartoony and colorful are graphics are, the more timeless it will look"

But I personally disagree with that. These are the people that just refuse to see any other style other than cartoony and colorful.

About Diablo i only knwo from hearsay that you have to grind for the best items. Character level isn't everything. Anyway i don't like online games so...

And I'm not talking about levels.

Diablo 3 chars can NOT be maxed.

Think, if there's a such service, there's a person who does that farming.

I'm more than efficient to do it myself. I have 3000 hours into Diablo 3.
