Ah I see. What would you say is the most resource intensive game you can run with it, and run well? Which is kind of a silly question :P Most anything will run well if you bump down the graphics.
Put it this way, if you had to show off what the gpu is capable of, what game would choose?
Seeing as I'll probably wind up forking out quite a bit on a proper ups to deal with out erratic power grid, I might have to start with a lower end psu and gpu myself one day.

and so does skyrim really but considering that runs on a intel hd 4400 that may not be that impressive

Batman AC? That's impressive. Batman AC is most graphically taxing game my pc could handle on full graphics with the 5870. Awesome game too. One of the few I chased to 100% completion

the story made no sense what so ever
and the whole games felt unfocused but as a graphics showcase it works

i liked arkham origins more because it was more focused

True, the story was kind of wacky. Kind of real wacky :P I much preferred Asylum when it came to the narrative. Haven't played Origins yet.
But gameplay? My oh my, glorious! The only thing I missed from Asylum gameplay wise was that on the highest difficulty the icon above an attacking enemy does not appear. Fighting through encounters without that visual hint of an incoming attack is incredibly satisfying, but of course incredibly difficult.

Zak McKracken isn't from teh 90s which was teh timeframe that teh original comment from tomimt refered to, it was done already back in teh 80s.

i was actually dissapointed with the whole arkham city thing

the idea to wall of a section of a city as a super max prison is incredibly stupid
there is no way to keep track of the prisoners or to keep control of them
its so stupid it doesnt fit with the serious tone of the game

protocol 10 it self is also incredibly stupid and strange expects to be able to do this in metropolis and other cities ?

It's not that uncommon... people move on to other projects, other companies, etc. Eventually file cabinets, hard disks, etc. get dumped in the basement, replaced, etc. Companies change hands and don't always go through all assets with a fine toothed comb... hard disks die and lose data, sometimes nobody has made backups or has no idea if or where they may exist...

I've heard of it happening many times actually. One story I recall was over a decade ago (around 2003 or so) when Dreamworks was in the process of figuring out their transition to Linux strategy, they intended to convert all of their business computing at all levels to Linux. There was this one piece of software (I forget the name of it) which they used which ONLY ran on Mac, and they tried to contact the company that wrote it many times and were not getting much out of them. They wanted to pay the company to port it to Linux, but just got mostly ignored as I recall. Eventually they offered to just buy the rights to the software and source code outright and the company finally responded that they could no longer find the source code. :) So... Dreamworks ended up writing their own custom program to replace it in-house from scratch.

Kind of sad that companies invest so much money in software development but end up having incompetent people managing or administering the long term longevity of their assets like this that though, really a shame.

Yeah it's best to try and ignore it or come up with some wacky conspiracy theory to justify the story. I don't think I gave it that much thought though from what I can remember.
It's not the entire Gotham true, but it didn't really bother me because it really has a big play area. I never really felt any sense of confinement, especially when compared to Asylum.

Which is a shame, because Silent Hill 2 was my favourite entry in the series.
