So, this morning, I saw in the trending youtube videos the teaser of Blade Runner 2049 which I wasn't aware of.

First things first, the teaser (no spoilers):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=haXvp8M9Cog

Starring Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford and directed by Denis Villeneuve(his precedent movie was "Arrival").

Thus are you waiting for it impatiently, do you think it's an heresy to make a sequel or you don't care because new movies suck anyway?
well neither yay or nay for me i guess. I really love the original - especially the directors cut. And well regarding this movie it's not like i'm ultra hyped or can't wait for it to be released nor will i have to go to the cinema on the release day - but still if the movie turns out to be at least "semi decent" i will give it a shot and then judge it. And if the movie then turns out to be "good" i will say it's good and not say it's bad/meh only bc it's "new" and old is always better ^^
A sequel is not needed at all. But then again Denis Villeneuve is sky miles above Ridley Scott in terms of talent. I'll be cautiously optimistic it's gonna turn out great and won't need 10 different cuts.

Isn't there like 3 directors cuts? I'm sure I've got the Final, absolute Final, no more after this one Cut...... Well maybe one more.
As not too subtly indicated in the other thread, this gets a "Oh, fuck no! NO, PLEASE GOD NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!" from me.

I got a huge thrill out of that "From executive producer Ridley Scott" credit AKA "We paid the guy a few millions, so we can use his name in order to make retards think he was actually involved in making this"

I don't have a beef with Ryan Gosling, I liked the guy in Drive, but boy, does he look weirdly out of place in this.

If I want an authentic Blade Runner experience, I'll just walk down a street in Shanghai while listening to Vangelis on an mp3 player. That city has become Blade Runner incarnate. No flying cars, but the next best thing: multi-level expressways. Driving on one of those is like going on a Blade Runner-themed rollercoaster.
Eh, I'll see it if it turns out to be good.
Kind of indifference mixed with a slight feeling of "Meh, another quick cash grab build on a well known Franchise..." on my side.

I'm waiting to hear if there's any funny stuff with refrigerators or trans-dimensional aliens before I see it.
Seems to me that Harrison Ford being in it destroys the theory that Deckard was a replicant. If he were, why is he still around?

true dat ;) - ya when i was refering to the directors cut i actually meant the final cut as this was the true Directors Cut of Scott - afaik he was not even involved "properly" in the "Directors Cut" despite it having its name ^^. So ya the Final Cut is the one to watch ^^
Hopefully Yay, very probably Nay.
Nay, since is doesn't have a story by Phillip K. Dick to back it up and most of all it doesn't need a sequel/prequel/remake/reboot/re-imagining etc.

It's been a while since I saw the movie, but as far as I remember there was never any question that he is a human. And after a very quick Google search it looks like that it's just a movie thing, more precisely Scott said Deckard is a replicant. To me Deckard is human.

And as far as the new trialer goes - neither yay nor nay. I'll wait some more information t o make judgement.
I guess yay? ;)
Well, the original Blade Runner is a flawed gem (its screenplay really sucks and all the director's cuts / final cuts do not help much). It's a cult film to be sure (especially thanks to the incredible production design, and brilliant music of Vangelis. Harrison Ford was also a good choice for the lead role). It's not one of my favorite movies but I like it nevertheless. However, I don't expect anything from the sequel. Sequels have rarely been successful. And Harrison Ford's sequels have been incredibly bad so far (Indiana Jones 4 & the new Star Wars film were awful reboots). This movie do not need Harrison Ford. And Ryan Gosling??? I know that many people cannot stand the presence of him in the big screen. And I'm not one of his fans either.
