For the same reason that other pre-Origin games aren't on GOG, aka, nobody knows or can tell. It could be anything, from EA/GOG not interested or focused on them, they could be scheduled after other releases GOG considers more important, there could be technical reasons making it hard to run them on modern Windows sytems, or the ownership rights might not be as clearly defined as every involved party thought they were.

As for Black & White, the only thing close to a lead would be from a PC Gamer article, where the author claims to have contacted Microsoft and a representative told him that Microsoft didn't acquire Black and White when they purchased Lionhead Studios:

Thank you for the links, very interesting articles! I had no idea it can be so complicated with the rights. With Black & White, the rights are indeed with EA as written there. With No One Lives Forever, it's incredible that no one knows who has the rights. A passionate team wanted to re-release NOLF and did everything humanly possible to realize it (like the GOG team certainly tries with Black & White), but they are not allowed to do so and the greedy big publishers with just $$ in their eyes are too stupid to see that they earn money with this re-release. Games should be like movies: timeless masterpieces and not with an expiration date. It's really sad that great games vanish, because of the greed, stupidity and incompetence of big corporations (Warner Bros, Fox, ...).

Been hoping for this for months now. I've asked myself the same question a few times, my guess is it's Microsoft saying "NO!" or a technical problem. Keep in mind, it was a VERY buggy game haha

The question is why would anybody even want to buy that overrated piece of shit? It's a typical Molyneux game: No depth or substance, gets boring after 2 hours because you already saw everything and then you wonder why you bought it (I fell for the massive hype around that piece of shit when it was originally released, bought it full price and regret this to this day)

Are you the guy who won "Curiosity - What's inside the cube?" and hate Molyneux now, because you didn't get your price? Or someone who backed Godus on Kickstarter? No reason to hate everything Molyneux ever did, Black & White is a masterpiece.

LOOK!

Black & White is overrated, HOWEVER being overrated doesn't make something crap.

Is it the best game in the world? NO! Is it a great game? NO! Shit, it probably wouldn't even count as a good game, but is it worth having and something fun to play with on a lazy afternoon, provided the price is right? I think so.

If someone is disappointed of the game, then this someone has mainly himself to blame because of unsatisfiable expectations. Some people expected so much that no game in the world could ever fullfill these expectations. Maybe Molyneux could not deliver everything he promised, but what he and his team delivered is great, even 15 years later. The haters don't have to buy it, but many people want this game.

Why do you have to comment if you hate the game? Why did you waste minutes of your life writting this? i believe the real idiot here is you. Enough said.

And yes, i did waste my time replying to you, but i believe i at least have a legit reason to be here since i did like the game...

I have the retail version of B&W, but I've never installed nor played it (yet). No idea if it would run on my Windows 7 PC, or would I have to install it on one of my Windows XP/98SE machines instead.

However, I'm surprised by all the praise it gets because all I can remember were lukewarm and even poor (user) reviews back when it came out. I could remember wrong, I guess.

Nope, that's how I remember it too. Lots and lots of hype around release time, which got me to buy it - quite possibly on release day. And it is (or was, probably) a gorgeous game, with a really cool concept and everything. And the actual gameplay just completely didn't work out.
