Interesting games from both lists immediately jump out at me. The promo has wishlisted games at the top, of which the first one is Children of Morta: Complete Edition. The lack of updates for that game is bothersome, but digging into it, the only thing that's really missing is online co-op, which I don't care about (and I somehow suspect that gog not offering tooling for that on Linux (i.e. galaxy, or at least the library part of that) is a large part of why this is missing).

In the "made in Poland" thread, I get 4 entries in before I see the wishlisted game Against the Storm. No Linux support there, alas, but it has a platinum rating on protondb, so I'm willing to take the gamble (ooh, plus it has a demo; I can (and will) try if it actually works => edit: did so; works near-flawlessly (only have an issue where the game refuses to shut down properly), and found it to be very atmospheric and pretty addictive - the roguelite aspect feels somewhat lightweight, as I never even came close to failing any of my towns, but I can see how it can all spiral out of control, and the various races, biomes, random buildings, etc should certainly keep it interesting for a long time).

Lots and lots of other interesting games in both places, but why look further when two amazing titles like this immediately jump out at me?

Two roguelites - one arpg, one city builder, both genres I'm very fond of. I kinda really hope I won't win, since choosing one to not keep would be hard! :D

Posting something nice about another country. Sooooo many to consider! I love countries with amazing nature, so was going to go with New Zealand or Argentina or Canada or ... but then read "yours or close", so instead let's go with... Norway! Not only do they have amazing nature there, and a culture which appreciates and makes it accessible, but they are also home to some amazing musical artists out there, like Aurora and Ane Brun.

From the first list, Both Front Mission 1 and 2 popped up from my wishlist but since I can only pick one I'll go with the first game. Played the 3rd game on the PS1 and absolutely loved it. Its got mechs and turn-based combat! Two of my favorite things. :)

From the 2nd list, the expansion to Cyberpunk 2077, Phantom Liberty, is the game I'm most excited to play from Gog so that is a no-brainer for me.

Something nice to say about another country.... Well the United States borders Canada and I've had the privilege to meet a lot of different Canadians. And I have to say that the stereotype about Canadians being nice is false... They are actually incredibly nice! They're just such a down to earth and chill people. Was not expecting that at all. Plus, some of my favorite sci-fi shows were filmed there like Andromeda, Stargate, and Battlestar Galactica. So, yeah, Canada's the best!

Aww, man... Going by the thread title, I expected a deep and intellectually satisfying discussion of astrophysics. About black holes (supposedly) having two (magnetic?) poles and how black holes usually *never* give anything away (except possibly Hawking radiation?).

I visited Czech Republic for the first time as a one-day stop on my trip to Croatia (which is also wonderful). And my next visit in Czechia was Czechia-only :D Actually I've only visited Morava, to be specific. People there are so kind, beer is absolutely awesome (I'm a beer fan and, trust me, the way Czech beer tastes in Czechia is something better than all the stories about it!) and I also love their language (which I've started to learn, just for fun).
I also love EHL (and how popular ice hockey is in CZ), which is my life-changing discovery – I often watch their games (well, not always, because there seems to be no legal way to watch EHL from Poland and I must cooperate with some dirty pirates...) and I lost all my interest in NHL :D

And I came here just to say that I really like Czech Republic and check all the other posts :)

I'm just here to express my appreciation for Australia. You've sent people across the Pacific Ocean to help my state (California) with wildfires. I know we've gotten help from other states, but not all states. Sometimes we get help from our federal government and sometimes we don't. Australia is a whole other country, with less of an obligation, but they came and helped us anyway.

Ok, so Poland in a variety of ways seems a reasonable place to live. No place is perfect, but the average person seems to talk to those that approach them with a nice attitude. At least from the youtube travellers that talk to random folks on the street. Most of the busy areas seem clean. I suspect if I were to travel a place out of my native nation, it would be Poland.
