Happy Birthday!
(not in.)
Happy birthday!!
I am in for Theme Hospital.
and my joke is
"Doctor, doctor, will I be able to play the violin after the operation?"
"Yes, of course..."
"Great! I never could before!"
Happy B-day!

Not in, but thanks.
Happy birthday and any other day after that. Great giveaway! I am not competing, just a happy birthday! Also here is one silly samurai movie I have seen years ago: "Shogun Assasin" is absolute trash perfection, full of tropes that ridicule the genre, bad gory effects, weird dubbing, intentionally gimmicky acting, and an equally absurd story that all combined make it extremely funny.

TheMonkofDestiny: A late happy birthday.

I'd like to be in for Way of the Samurai, depending on whether you consider Blind Fury to fall under the acceptable term of a samurai film or not. Pending that, I'll either pull up something else or just back out entirely.
if it's blind fury with rutger hauer then it doesn't really seem like it fits the bill, but you're still in, because it's my birthday so whatever :D

Also, I'll pick the winners either on wednesday or on thursday probably

Yep, that's the film I'm referring to. I was hoping potentially, since it was based off of one of the old Zatoichi films, that it'd be an exception. It's all good though. To keep it honorable to the rules I'll edit in my post with why I liked it and add in another film that sticks more closely to the genre.

(edit to my original response is in)

Not in.
Nevertheless, it's a pity that Sword of Doom has no proper ending, otherwise it could be the best samurai movie for me. Thus it's still Seppuku, or Lone Wolf and Cub. Can't decide...
Happy Birthday!
Edit:

I thought about it and want to withdraw from the giveaway. While Way of the Samurai 3 is a great game -- and I certainly appreciate your generosity -- I have played it in the past... and... would rather someone new to the game have a chance to experience it!

=================================================================================

Happy Birthday!

I'm in for Way of the Samurai 3 - Deluxe Edition.

There is a simple elegance to Way of the Samurai 3 that doesn't exist in the other over-the-top titles.

As for samurai movies...

they're one of my passions and I've seen (and own) many, but my favorite -- and that I just watched recently -- is the final movie in the Samurai trilogy (Samurai III: Duel at Ganryu Island). Although wonderful in Yojimbo, Sanjuro, and even Seven Samurai, Toshiro Mifune is the perfect Musashi Miyamoto in the Samurai films. I could watch Duel a million times... and a great thing about Way of the Samurai 3 is that it not only has a character creator "face" that is very close to Toshiro Mifune (albeit his character from Seven Samurai), but the game uses classic sound effects very much like those in the Samurai trilogy -- ie those cicadas are beautiful.

Yeah, 13 Assassin's is a great -- albeit bloody -- retelling of Chuchigura and Samurai Fiction is a strange MTV-inspired trip, but the Samurai trilogy is the best IMHO

ps -- not wanting to be "that guy," but Zatoichi isn't technically a samurai... just a swordsman akin to something like Lady Snowblood... but yes, everybody calls them samurai movies. ;)

I'm in for Septerra Core: Legacy of the Creator.

I chose to see TIRANIA (1969).
In this film the samurai Magobei leaves the clan, his wife and the city where he lives and becomes a ronin after his group commits a massacre against all the inhabitants of a fishing village. Years later, the same samurai he had abandoned planned a new massacre and decided to kill Magobei to silence him. And then a struggle for life begins and a reckoning.
