I heard all three of these games are good and they seem to be some of the highest user rated on gog.com. If I had to pick one to purchase, which one should I go with?

This is coming from someone who enjoys 3rd person action/adventures & grew up on the older Tomb Raider PC games (1-3).
Psychonauts and PoP have probably aged the best and out of those two I prefer Psychonauts.
I personally found PoP to get a bit repetitive fairly quickly.
BG&E hadn't aged particularly gracefully last time I tried it, but that's been a while.
The controls were a bit wonky and I encountered some graphical glitches.
Psychonauts I finished again a year or two ago without any issues, even the famously awful last level wasn't that bad IMO.
This is an INCREDIBLY super-tricky question, as all of these games are my favourites, for different reasons:

- BG&E for its incredible (yet short) french-comic book world and cool french-comic book plot.

- PoP:SoT for its well-designed levels, time reverting feature, nice (but not too deep) plot within a nice and colorful arabian setting, and of course the godly soundtrack.

- Psychonauts for its beautiful macabre storyline and art-design that elevated double fine to where they are now. Even if its not one of the most impressive 3d platformers, it's an experience worth.. experiencing. It even has the last remnants of lucasart's adventure game puzzles.

I suggest reading/watching reviews for the games to see if you'd like one more that another, or what I also suggest is a coin toss.

Wait, that's three games.. uuuuhh, assign numbers 1, 2, and 3 to each game and just run through it with a randomizer? You can't go wrong with each of these. And of course, get the rest of the two over time.

Played (and finished) all 3 and they're all really good games. It's a tough choice.

If I had to go with one, I'd pick Beyond Good & Evil (which is probably my favorite action/adventure of all times).

But buy them all eventually, they're definitely worth it.

If its action/adventure you're craving then I highly recommend Prince of Persia: Sands of Time as its still the best modern POP game in my opinion even though the rest of the games in the trilogy are also good. The game still holds up even after all these years due to unique gameplay mechanics it introduced that have been aped by many other games since then.
If you have the time and money get all 3 and play em.
All three are good, but Psychonauts is my favorite of the bunch.
I haven't played Psychonauts, but I've finished both Prince of Persia and Beyond Good & Evil many times. They are both great games, but if I were to choose the one I like the most, it would have to be Beyond Good & Evil. The soundtrack, gameplay and story is pretty great. It's definitely my favorite adventure-game.
If you want a lot of combat and puzzles, more serious setting and nice arabian atmosphere go for Sands of Time.
If you want humorous adventure with cool abilities, perfect characters and writing, awesome levels but more simple combat and platforming then go with Psychonauts.
I am just installing Beyond Good and Evil as we speak so can't comment on that.

I personally find Sands of Time very good and Psychonauts absolutely awesome so I would pick Psychonauts but it depends on what kind of experience you desire.
Which Prince of Persia? There's five, and that's just counting the modern ones. Warrior Within was probably the best. I'd still go with Psychonauts, but that really all depends on whether you want some rather serious fable/fantasy type thing, or a quirky, funny colorful comedy-adventure.

I'm not a fan of Beyond Good & Evil. I probably got bored "before the game gets good".

Breja: Which Prince of Persia? There's five, and that's just counting the modern ones.
Sands of Time - there is SOT in the title of this thread.
Three great games wow. I would say that BG&E has the most gameplay, or at least the most go back later and explore more. Psychonauts is probably the best story and the most fun of the two. Sands of Time feels a little different than the other two, it's back and forth exploring is mostly just window dressing and is more of a straight line. It's also the tightest gameplay due to being a much more focused project, much more pleasurable to control (note: I played the PS2 version so the PC version may or may not feel the same) than the others.
Go with Prince of Persia, it's a good game on its own but if you like it there are sequels to have fun with. BG&E ends on a cliffhanger, and Psychonauts ends with "and they went on more adventures" but some people saw that as a cliffhanger as well.

Just keep an open mind with PoP 2, a lot of people hated it for changing the tone so much, but gameplay-wise it's probably the best in the series.
This is a tough choice I could almost just draw a name out of a hat and be satisfied with whatever. Beyond Good & Evil seems to be one of the highest rated action games on gog with 3942 votes beating both POP:SOT and just barely by Psychonauts.

I heard POP2 wasn't that good. Do you need to play the POP games in order? I heard WW was better than Two Thrones.

Also, I don't like playing these type of games with keyboard/ mouse (unless they work really well). Since these are mostly console ports I was wondering if the gog versions work well with a usb xbox controller? That could help my decision as well.

Psychonauts, if for no other reason than to play the Milkman conspiracy level. SoT though an awesome game, has aged a bit for me mechanics wise. Last time I played (last year I think) I found the fighting to become entirely too repetitive and boring after a while. I'd rather go with Warrior Within personally. Still, SoT has an awesome atmosphere and some pretty cool levels. My only complaint really is the combat.
