The Elder Scrolls. Quake & Doom. Fallout. Alright.

Welcome, Bethesda, to our pantheon of all-time classics!
Today, we're happy to start a blooming new partnership with Bethesda Softworks, one that brings an impressive lineup of their unforgettable games to our DRM-free platform, and plenty of guts and nuclear smiles to our faces.

We're teaming up to release some of the greatest hits from the Bethesda vault, some DRM-free for the first time ever. Eleven new arrivals include The Elder Scrolls and two digital-distribution premieres, totally retro id Software shooters, plus the long-awaited return of the Fallout franchise! To make the day even sweeter, The Elder Scrolls: Arena and The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall will be added to your game shelf entirely for free when you buy any Bethesda game.

The Elder Scrolls, perched high up among the most famous video-game worlds ever created, are now DRM-free and updated for your modern computer - you can purchase all three to receive a 33% discount.:
--The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind - Game of the Year Edition.
--The Elder Scrolls Adventures: Redguard - digital distribution premiere.
--The Elder Scrolls: Battlespire - digital distribution premiere.
--The Elder Scrolls: Arena - FREE with any Bethesda purchase.
--The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall - FREE with any Bethesda purchase, too.

Megahit id Software first-person shooters join the fray - also 33% off if you grab all three:
--Quake including Mission Pack 1 and Mission Pack 2
--The Ultimate DOOM
--DOOM II + Master Levels for Doom II + Final DOOM

And last we find that goodbyes are not forever (and that war never changes). Fallout, the premiere post nuclear role playing game franchise is finally back on GOG.com! Save 66% if you complete your collection in one purchase.
--Fallout
--Fallout 2
--Fallout Tactics

The bundle promos end on Wednesday, September 2, 12:59 PM GMT.

Grargar: If somebody buys a Bethesda game as a gift, who will get the free games? The buyer or the one who redeems the gift?
avatar
IAmSinistar: I would think the free games are triggered by adding a Bethesda purchase to a shelf, so they likely go with the key. Could be wrong, of course.

I'm curious as to what happens when multiple people redeem off that same bundle key. Does the first redeemer get the free games? Or everyone? Moot if it's the buyer, of course.
I would think everyone redeeming would get them. The games are freeware anyway, so I am more surprised (not) that there is even the paywall of buying any Bethesda game to get them.

WarlockLord: Nice! Heretic/Hexen to come some time, perhaps?
That would be awesome! Hey, if GOG made one miracle happen, why not another?
I see Heretic + Hexen Collection (presumably complete) is a simple $9.99 elsewhere; hope GOGgers can get it for that price when the games come!

Also I'm curious about something: Steam is still selling DOOM 3 original and Resurrection Evil outside of the BFG edition. Is there any reason GOGgers would want to see the original DOOM 3 + ResurrEvil here, as opposed to just BFG?
Excelent news!

Kudos to GOG.com, Bethesda and Id Software.

bernstein82: nice!
however, how come i can buy the fallout trilogy again? despite it being already in my gog library? is this some different (e.g. enhanced) version of the games?
and does that mean i won't get any compatibility fixes despite them being in my library AND the store unless i buy it a third time (got a retail copy somewhere in my basement)?
thx

lostwolfe: at a guess:

you'll probably find that - literally - the only difference is the logos during the splash screens. ie: the old ones will still say interplay, the new ones will say bethesda.

the id is different because - literally - bethesda wants to sell them under their name, not interplay's. they want the money, you see.

i know, i know, i'm a grumpy wolfe. but i'm just not a huge fan of bethesda.
thx... well then i guess i'll just have to boycot bethesda for a few years... and no i don't think that'll help. but i got principles. at least until the game breaks under windows 11 ;-)

Yes. For one, Doom 3 BFG is more expensive and two, not all the changes it did were well-received...

This is GOG. Of course there will be such reasons.

Relevant.

Edit: See? Professional cat already giving reasons.

I am speechless. I didn't expect that at all.

That'd be great! I always liked Heretic and Hexen more than Doom and Quake - I know, I know apples to oranges in a way but they'll always be linked in my mind.

That said, ever since LucasArts it seems like GoG has just been a flood of true old school, foundational classics. Between the new additions and what was already here, GoG really is a ridiculous repository. I... I think I'm almost sated just with what's here! Shocking!

Interesting coincidence, I just now posted a thread about this.

groze: Holy. F*ck.

Now, *this* is huge! :O
This was my immediate reaction when I saw the news. Wow! Nice going GOG.
Umm... You do know that you can go to The Elder Scrolls' website to get Arena and Daggerfall for free right? Like without DRM too? Not complaining about a Bethesda sale, but that's hardly an incentive.

A little kick in the teeth, lets just hope they pick us up and say BTW we're released these title too.
