Daikatana.

I legitimately love this game, though the 1.3 fan patch made it much nicer than the patched 1.2 version. It even has the option to remove the sidekicks so it takes the one good thing about the N64 port to make the PC version of the game even better. It's a Quake II styled FPS at the end of the day, and that is not a bad thing.

I loved to play Daikatana but because the Story is Hilarious, I consider the game cheesy because of this, not only because the gameplay was bad.

Falkenherz: Yeah, I don’t see this connection either, since Oblivion is open world und Dark Messiah has a level structure and therefore a much tighter story and gameplay. And I honestly can’t remember any bad review about it, all were very positive, at least here in Germany.
I don't think that any review here really raved about Dark Messiah, but it was universally in the 'good' range. Definitely not terrible at any rate.
My favorite worst game I have ever played, yet the fact that it was so terrible kept me glued to the screen was Crusaders of Might and Magic.

It was during that wonderful time when games came with magazines in nicely looking paper sleeves, and it didn't cost that much to buy them. During that time, since I was very young, I haven't had any idea how to get games and my only source of games were these magazines and my siblings (and few freeware games I have managed to get myself).

And then one beautiful day my brother came to met with newest release of "Level" magazine. Now I was blown away, I was always a sucker for RPG games, but this took the cake. Wide open world, beautiful graphics, fun combat, more than enough enemies to keep slashing and most importantly SO MANY THINGS TO EXPLORE.

I didn't speak jack squat english, so it was all the more fun to wander, never knowing where to go and just winging it.

So yeah, Crusaders of Might and Magic is my most favorite "terirble" game.

dtgreene: Also, Zelda 2 is my favorite Zelda game
You know, whenever someone brings up Zelda 2, they say something like "Everyone says its a bad game but I like it."

Who exactly thinks this is a bad game?

ReynardFox: Duke Nukem Forever.
I hear that so much I'm having to question my own sense of reality
World of Warcraft: Cataclysm. Everybody hates it, but I loved it.

I have been wishing for a sequal for ages. I'll just have to settle for something like Dishonored.
Secret Service: In Harm's Way and Alpha Prime have both received poor ratings from users and critics, but I personally enjoyed them.
Breakdown for the original Xbox. I could not finish it because of some BS part in which you have to fight 3 or 4 enemies at a time in a small room with a combat system meant for one-on-one fights but the game was pretty entertaining. It is a first person fighting game, not a shooter even though there are guns, and it had some good fight sequences like the one-on-one boss fights. I also enjoyed the first person vomiting scene in the beginning.

Also, Ghost Recon for the PS2. People hated it and felt it was really watered-down compared to the PC version but I liked it.

Not sure if this counts but it is definitely underrated: Fragile Dreams for the Wii. It is a decent survival horror game with decent gameplay, an interesting story, and excellent music.
The Bible Adventures games aren't actually that bad so much as shockingly under-ambitious. The carrying/stacking/throwing mechanic is interesting in practice and could have been more interesting in some other game, and the Noah segment's re-use of the same area to provide different challenges actually seems clever to me, while others have criticized it as lazy. The Noah segment also makes the best use of the stacking mechanic, so maybe I'm just complimenting the one segment?

Not that it isn't hilarious when Moses' sister Miriam gets clipped by an enemy and chucks her little brother off screen like a football and he lands head-first in the Nile.

I remember Two Worlds basically getting ripped a new one when it came out, but I loved it - despite the horrendous voice acting and writing (help me find the taint!).
I liked FFXIII... kinda. It looks great, the combat system had some interesting ideas, and the linearity didn't bother me much. The main plot is completely nonsensical (in a typical FF fashion... so nothing new here) but I grew to like most of the party members (or at least not to hate them: this is the first FF I played that didn't have an unbearably annoying character*, which is a record to me) and I wanted to see what would happen to them.
I also liked that the story is told from multiple POVs, and past a certain point I could even assemble the group any way I wanted... no mandatory leader/protagonist for once; it was kind of cool.

Sure, it's not particularly brilliant and it's got its fair share of problems, more than I care to mention, but I don't think it's as bad as people say.

*I played it with japanese voices though. I don't think I could have stomached the English dub; especially "Liawa's" dull and emotionless voice.

The closest game to Dark Messiah, that I can think of, for me is Enclave. Instead of a skill tree, here you have different classes of characters which you can freely choose from at the start of each level. And similiar to Dark Messiah, it got superb level design. But I’m getting off topic.
