Steam key reseller

Comes with all DLC for xcom 2, yes you will want the DLC, apparently it adds a fair amount of gameplay and is necessary for a good number of mods.

This package of Xcom 2 is not even available on Gog.

Costs almost double on Steam (current price, never seen it this cheap here at 7.50)

And it's price is just enough to qualify you for 2 free christmas themed games and you get a bonus key too (probably won't be that great, but it's free)

There is ways to get free IG store credits that can go to this purchase and it acts the same as though you paid cash.

I don't recommend getting The Xcom ultimate collection, it costs notably more and Xcom 2 is mostly just better than 1 and Xcom 2 has lots of mods and Xcom 1 has very few, not very modable. Also if you do want to get the Xcom 1 +dlcs it's cheaper to buy that package separately.

It's a little under 3 days for the sale, and the bonus christmas stuff, no one seems to know when that might end.

Well IG also has the free games, and the store kreds you can get for free can be used with the purchase.

The keys I've bought from there have worked.

There are still cheaper options than indiegala, excluding keyshops. GreenManGaming, Voidu, Gamebillet or Noctre are all legit and safe.

That's not necessarily true. Nothing is wrong with grey market sellers, for the most part. Once in a blue moon, an illegitimate scammer pops up on their market places, but that's the exception to the rule, not the standard practice.

No, IG is an offical partner, so they do not opperate in any grey markets. they do not re-sell keys got from "somewhere", but work in partnership with the stores, so the keys are legittimate.

Edit: as Mike Rosen said a couple of years ago abot G2A (another key-reseller):

"Please, if you’re going to buy a game from G2A, just pirate it instead! Genuinely!
Devs don’t see a penny either way, so we’d much rather G2A didn’t see money either"

Anyway, there is the free games and the free store credit you can get to go to the purchase that are both good reasons to get Xcom 2 collections form IG


Certainly a much better option than buying from Steam, and a even better option than buying from Gog that doesn't even have the collection as a option.

Not to defend that kind of trading, but based on my limited experience, that's true.

I have bought a handful of Steam keys from such places, in some cases those places being the only option to get games that have been removed from the store.

Only once has there been a case where the game key either didn't work or got deactivated.
I have received much more non-functioning game keys from legit bundle sites.


Obviously all of this doesn't change the other problems of those sites, such as some developers selling "review keys" to their own games, avoiding taxes and cutting Steam's share from the sale and so on.

XCOM EU/EW has probably one of the biggest, most extensive mods ever created, Long War (which actually incorporates dozens of mods within). XCOM 2 has its own epic version too, and only fairly recently did they manage to make it with the expansion built in too.

But yeah, you are right, this is a good deal, especially since it's the superior Steam version with probably one of the best Linux ports ever made for a AAA game.

I do strongly recommend buying XCOM EU/EW (1) and playing through it first, as there is a strong storyline connection, and plus it's an amazing game in its own rights. Especially the soundtrack.

While IG is a valid source for keys (as far as I can tell from my own experience), your mentioning "Steam key reseller" put people here on the wrong track.

Because key resellers are quasi per definition, grey/shady...and if you use them, you'll experience revoked games licenses rather sooner than later.

That's why we see so many threads with titles like "Game disappeared from my account!", with texts like "I bought game X some time ago, I installed it and played it, but now I wanted to play it again after some time, and it's gone from my account!"

That's when someone bought a key at a key reseller site, and the key gets revoked because a stolen CC was used to buy that key in the first place, etc.

And that's why you should never buy from a key reseller.
