timppu: I generally think that with laptops the vendor drivers are just a bad idea, and I have no idea why they insist on making them when they seem to be unwilling to keep them up to date, regardless of which laptop vendor we are talking about.
You're right, it is the vendor drivers, with my current computer I can just download the regular ones, but Acer had special drivers specifically designed for their computers and you couldn't use the regular ones. Plus I actually had to use an unofficial BIOS right at the beginning because as it was, and I think this got fixed at some point thankfully, there was no way to properly set the switchable graphics, so some games wouldn't run at all because the computer automatically, and without using the unofficial BIOS, unfixably, wouldn't use the actual graphics card, instead starting up with the Intel chip. In my case, this meant that Rage would crash at startup, which was annoying since once I used the unofficial BIOS and set the computer to default to the graphics card, it ran just fine.

So, I guess I should amend my statement. Acer tends towards being cheaper, and if you can deal with that, you could do worse. Be careful of switchable graphics. Although I'll amend that too, sometimes there's an older game that runs better on the Intel chip than the graphics card. Nocturne hates modern AMD cards, for instance.
People with Nvidia Optimus (switchable graphics) in their laptops should go in the Nvidia Control Panel and manually select for each game the Nvidia GPU. Then go to the Power management mode and set that to Prefer consistent performance or Prefer maximum performance. See the attached example.

The default setting here, Optimal power, will sometimes glitch and "disconnects" the GPU, which then requires a system reboot.

What do you mean you couldn't use the regular ones? As said, I couldn't that install e.g. vanilla Intel HD Graphics drivers over the "vendor drivers" on either a HP not an Acer laptop, but in both cases uninstalling the vendor GPU drivers first allowed me to install the vanilla Intel drivers.

It might also help that as the first step I tend to reinstall Windows on new laptops, to get rid of any vendor applications and utilities they have preloaded on the laptop. So in the case of Windows 10, it means creating a new USB installation media with the MS Media Creation too, starting a new Windows installation run with it, deleting all the existing partitions from the hard drive (including the recovery partition, as it apparently has the tainted vendor-version of Windows 10; it will be replaced by a vanilla Windows 10 recovery partition) etc.

I mean if I tried to use the drivers from AMD, it'd get pissy at me for not using drivers that were customised for the computer and refuse to install them. I dunno, all I'm saying is, I had these troubles with Acer computers, and now that I'm not on Acer, I don't have the issue, so maybe be careful about that.

Ok, could be it is a similar thing as with the Intel HD drivers that it refuses to install the vanilla drivers unless you first uninstall the vendor drivers, and then install the vanilla drivers.

Not sure if NVidia drivers have a similar check, at least NVidia Geforce installer lets you choose a "clean install" option, which wipes any earlier drivers away before installing the new ones.
I'd buy this if i needed a laptop now:

https://www.amazon.es/ASUS-GL702ZC-GC104T-Ordenador-port%C3%A1til-Original/dp/B075ZSXT5L/ 999€

Ryzen 7 1700 / 16GB / 1TB + 256 SSD / RX580 / 17.3" / Win10
Guys, I think of buying a new laptop, because mine is already dead, it doesn't want to switch on and work. I'm considering of buying Acer Predator Triton 500. However, it's kind of pricey, maybe you guys have an idea of a cheaper one? In general, is Acer a good choice? Moreover, I just found a 15% coupon acer on everything on Acer website, and I guess it's pretty cool, isn't it?

It's far more personal preference. There were more cheap brands that cut corners and have you mini-machines that had compatibility issues, but not sure in recent years.

What do you need the laptop for? What's your target performance/game(s) or programs and software?

I noticed it was old, but also still on topic. If he doesn't reply, well that's the end of it.
