Bloody9: Whoa....I had never heard of these Shelter games. They definitely appear to be something different and unique. I am very intrigued by them. I have an extreme allergy to cats (like put me in the hospital reaction) so I usually avoid them like the plague. Of course this is a video game and not a real cat but playing a cat feels kind of weird to me. I see the first Shelter game is about a badger. Is the second game a lot better than the first one? Thanks a lot for the suggestion tinyE!

Matewis: Er...
Matewis,

Were you expressing hesitation as to the Shelter games or to my allergy comments. I know it's completely irrational not wanting to play a cat in a video game but if you knew the pain I have suffered at the expense of cats, a little irrational behavior is warranted ;)

PS: I have a bunch of what you suggested already. Thanks though! If GOG would just get XCOM: Enemy Unknown I'd be extremely happy!

ZFR: What games do you like?

Escape Goat, VVVVVV are good choices if you like platformers

Bloody9: I like all sorts of games. The two I listed were games I either already own (on CD) or have played and enjoyed. One's a complete strategy game through and through and the other is an old FPS that's still enjoyable. I just bought on the sale Firewatch, SWAT 3 & 4, Dragon's Dogma, Baseball Stars 2, This War of Mine & Oblivion. I am intrigued by a lot of these new indie titles that are doing different things and are not the same old stuff.
Not sure if you're into horror, but

Vampire the Masquerade: Redemption ($0.89)

+

Realms of the Haunting ($0.59) = $1.48

(I haven't played either, but they're both considered quite good.)

tinyE: Shelter 2
Shelter 1 was better.

bhrigu: You were probably trying to say Eradicator I guess, which is on sale for exactly $1.49. I have not played that game, however.
:p
I was?

Uhm, neither?

I'm very confused right now :P

I already have Vampire and Realms on CD and not looking to replace them right now but thanks!

Lots of great suggestions here! Many games I was unaware of. Thanks a bunch everyone!

I see a vote for Shelter 1 over Shelter 2. Can anyone elaborate on some differences other then the animals you play?

Ha Ha, no problem. Thanks for your suggestions though!

omega64: Shelter 1 was better.
I know, but I didn't see that on sale.

I believe Matewis was confused because you quoted his post (which alerts a user that you are replying to them), even though you were actually talking to tinyE about his post (which you didn't quote or reply to). ;)

It is, 89 cents.

Glad to help :) I see you're interested in the new XCom. If you're interested in trying out the original, check out OpenXcom sometime.

Thanks! I'll take a look. I have all of the original ones. I REALLY want GOG to get XCOM: Enemy Unknown though. That's #1 on my wishlist. I'm really leaning towards one of the Shelter games or Brutal Legend right now. I had never checked out Brutal Legend so I took a look at a Youtube video and it looks funny with good production values.
Well there is imo a very good game available for $0.39.:Zafehouse Diaries.

It is basically the walking dead as a sort of a boardgame and a social simulation of people who like and do not like each other and how to make them work together to achieve different goals and overcome the zombie threat.
My recommendations, in order of preference:

"Commandos 2 + 3"
"Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis"
"Freedom Force" and "Freedom Force vs. the 3rd Reich"
"Death to spies"
I can recommend you Robin Hood: The Legend of Sherwood:
If you like games like Commandos, this is a must have for you.
You will no regret:)
...
Ops. Now i see that you asked for game up to $1 49.
This is $1.99 game. Sorry my mistake. :(

Brütal Legend is a mixed bag in that it's part open world action driving and fighting adventure (which most people like), and part 3D RTS / Tower Defense (which many people dislike). You can freely roam the world, but you have to complete the RTS stages in between in order to move on with the story and open up new parts of the worlds. The story also ends a bit quicker than many people expected. So keep that in mind when making your decision. Personally I loved the game, and even though I wasn't particularly fond of the RTS parts I got through them alright and wasn't too pissed off about it. I didn't mind the ending either. The graphics, the soundtrack, the setting, the open world, all that was awesome enough for me to overlook or forgive any flaws. But YMMV.

tfishell: Postal 2, only $1.

tinyE: I was going to suggest that but I think he was going for exactly 1.49.
Hmm, maybe so. Yeah there are LOT of well-received games on sale for that price (since they're normally 5.99 and -75%).

I'll chime in with other FPSes:

Blood
Clive Barker's Undying
