Yeah yeah not an original idea for a thread but still, as after watching that video, I still got the revelation that it still seems to be "odd" to be a PC gamer.
I guess by now everyone already knows Superman is a gamer, but just to remind:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r4K6nRpkLFw
I loved it when he told the interviewer he finished The Witcher 3 twice:
Reviewer: "PS4 or Xbox?"
Superman: "PC!" (with an "Uh oh..." face)
Reviewer: "Oh wow... Was that because as a child your evil stepfather forced you to use a PC or etc. etc.?"
I mean, come on! Is it really so unthinkable that someone would play games on PC? And one has to explain why they would choose to play on PCs instead of consoles?
I guess the world would have exploded if he had said he played the GOG version of The Witcher 3, not the Steam version (then again that is quite possible as the retail versions had a GOG/Galaxy code in them; Henry? Are you reading this?).
Partly this seems to have been also on common media when the news about Cyberpunk 2077's problems have been reported there. Those news always seem to talk about only the console versions of the game (and the problems they have), it gives me an impression the game exists only on consoles. Maybe in some sentence the PC version might be mentioned as well. Yet, if the reports are of any indication, most of the preorders and sales have been for the PC version, not the console versions?
=========
Anyway, this does remind me that one of my colleagues always says, when he hears about me thinking of buying a new gaming PC or laptop: "Why don't you just buy a PS4 and be done with it?". Obviously he is not a golfer, but apparently his teenage son plays (console) games, so that's how much he knows about gaming.
I know many will mention that they play both on consoles and PCs. I used to too, but mainly when PC and console games were much more different, in the PSX and PS2 times. Nowadays you mostly end up playing the same or similar games on both PCs and consoles, so I personally see less reason to own both a gaming PC and consoles.
