Apocalypse.....I mean site update
Nothing interesting.

Lots of uninteresting stuff.
Absolutely nothing has happened... we were just killing time till you got back :)
Well, the usual things happened, you know?
Some changes to the website, which broke some things, some people got fired because of social media incidents, and GoG decided to get rid of GoG mixes.
We had some wars and some peace and all that.
Well, the usual things, as I mentioned before.
Save yourself from hell

They finally released that game that everyone was waiting for.
Honestly, the experience of these last years in GOG is a bit subjective individually. I can only speak of what I percieved. But, in short, from what I saw :

A pirate ghost kidnapped a museum curator's daughter but she retrieved her by rummaging in piles of random objects, and a mafioso got betrayed during an escort mission through a zombie-infested town, while a doctor ascended to a higher plane of existence after founding a spiritual cult. Giant insects destroyed the world and kept being beaten through a time loop by giant robots, and nazis and allied forced fought in the Atlantic. A serial killer slaughtered a lot of innocents during various noisy parties, a bunch of automatons went on a piracy spree across the galaxy, a descendant from Van Helsing went back to eastern Europe to fight mechanical werewolves, a painter went mad, a new prison was built, but prisonners kept escaping frpm another one, and a cowboy made a pact with the devil. There's also been a bunch of burglaries by a girl with an afro hairdo, and lots of killing by ninjas with and without motorcycle helmets. Very confusing red gnomes have infested Alaska for a while, a tropical island's dictator went humiliatingly bankrupt, and a murder has been committed by a girl who may or may not be schyzophrenic. There's also been a few hostage situations resolved by a swat team, a few succesful landings on other planets, but also some series of disasters plaging an expedition to Mars. New episodes from a japanese scifi tv show have blurred reality a bit, and new laws have rendered travels to Arstotzka more difficult. And a few accidents have happened when that bald guy with a red tie was visiting.

But I don't know, we didn't all notice the same things.
low rated
Tauto and I got married.

We're expecting our first child in March.
You're back, finally! We can all start using GOG again. Since you've been gone its been frozen-in-time, really strange... Maybe we're all just simulated beings and you're the only real person?

My understanding is that if you paid attention to world events, know that they have affected GOG as well: basically all the old nosey people that try to tell everyone how to run their lives somehow managed to get enough power to try to keep alternative viewpoints out. Oh, and there's a rumor that someone who didn't work for GOG very long ended up getting fired for disagreeing with those busybodies, but it's just a rumor (we do know, however, the guy's personal information was revealed [not gog's fault, though], but that's par for the course anymore).

Oh, and GWENT is an always online game using galaxy. There's also some shows of goodwill on GOG's end that they aren't going to force galaxy on us for single player games.

Well I notice you haven't copyrighted this story yet, so, if you happen to see a bestseller sounding familiar in the future, wait no, nevermind, I did not say a word.

I'm a member since 2011 but only joined the forums a couple of months ago. Were these forums any different back in the days ?
Not much has changed other than a lot of people who tried to enforce their will on the forum and its users, seem to have left in the past couple of years.

There's still some hard SJW/alt-right viewpoints conflicting at every possible opportunity, though, which I guess is the downside of the secret rulers of GOG's general forum leaving.

Personally, I went into el lurko mode for a long time, said some stuff here and there, and now I'm back, much like you. I try to stay out of the political discussions which consist of Curly and Moe (and variations therein) telling each other they're wrong, and anyone who doesn't pick one side or the other is socially irresponsible.

Pretty much like it's been since around 2012, just slightly more political because of the polarization of US politics in the past year or two.
