I really appreciate that your games are point and click adventures. I am really looking forward to playing these very highly reviewed games.

Keep up the great work, we appreciate it.
I'm really enjoying the behind-the-scenes updates of your in-game models/scenes creation. Pretty cool. That looks like an incredible amount of work.

I have the feeling the KS campaign may have slowed to a crawl. =/ The big publications still seem to have not picked up on this. You guys may want to start poking them. I still think those 24 days weren't enough.

Not really, we are on track to finish with more than our requested goal. That is the nature of Kickstarters - if you check out Kicktraq :
https://www.kicktraq.com/projects/bischoff/beautiful-desolation-isometric-post-apocalyptic-ad/ - we are almost at 2/3rd in just over a week!
I agree the big publications have been really slow, but I suspect that gaming media is essentially dead and most of the folks come from forums and social media/reddit/imgur etc anyway.

Well, when I look at the trending projection and where the actual curve is heading it doesn't really seem to add up, but what do I know? *shrug*

I just find it odd that both Rock Paper Shotgun and PC Gamer mentioned Cayne coming out, but neither seems to have followed up when the Beautiful Desolation KS actually went live. I would imagine those two purely PC gaming sites do have a fair amount of sway with their followers.

Anyway, I'm wishing you guys all the best, and I'll be crossing my fingers, eyes, and toes that the KS will be successful. :)
Hey Guys,

we are inching towards our target.

Please consider backing if you have not already, even a few dollars will ensure this game gets made.

Also, check out all the updates so far:

I still don't know if I want to back this game...
- I liked Stasis a lot. I also like that you're releasing DRM-free games.
BUT:
- I don't like the way you (and some other Kickstarters - looking at you, Paradox!) are treating people who like boxed games. Why only starting at the $119 tier? Why is there no Just-the-box-and-nothing-else tier?
Also, what's in the box? A printed manual? Is the full game (DRM-free) on the DVD? Etc. -edit- found it... just a usb-drive (hdd? flash?) in the box. Why no manual? And with "manual" I don't just mean a set of instructions - story, maps, artwork, npc descriptions, etc...

So still undecided - but that doesn't mean I wouldn't buy the game once/if it's released on GOG.

producing physical material is a huge undertaking and is costly to do

we also live in a world of extreme consumerism and waste and I appreciate monetary disincentives for producing what is essentially "waste", no matter how shiny - if you really want to add more trash to the world after you're gone, you better pay for it a little, imo

One person's valuable object is another one's "waste". I'm sure that if I took a look around in your life I'd find lots of things that I'd consider "waste". But I don't consider myself the objective authority on "value". Do you?

you are missing the point, actually

it is all waste in another 100 years - we're just adding to the piles by accumulating more "stuff"

the production of the "stuff" creates its own waste on a massive scale, as well. it's almost like creating a choke point: if a 40$ tier was available with a box, think of all the extra waste that would be produced because of the exponential amount of people willing/wanting to pay that much and receive a box

not looking for a debate, though, but just wanting you to reconize the desire for material things is not healthy in a fundamental way - what does having a box matter? if your response is something along the lines of "because I want it", illustrates case and point

You confuse the subjective with the objective. Tell me, does your life matter? If your response is something along the lines of "because I want it", then stop wasting natural resources and end it. I can think of a million examples - In the end, nothing matters and everything is waste... or not.
Are you telling me that you live in a tube connected to the matrix or in a forest "one with nature"? If not, then why are you telling me that the physical objects that *I* value are "just stuff" and "waste" and yours are not?
Looks like an isometric "The Dig". Cool.

Thanks! The Dig is a game I play from time to time. It has its flaws but it still tried to do something new and I appreciate it for that :)

Hey There,

Not totally sure what you mean? We did a brilliant boxed edition for STASIS. This new one is even better IMHO. Producing a limited run foiled and UV varnished printed box is really costly. When you can create 10,000's of units then you can bring the price down to a few bucks, but we are pricing 400 - which means our setup costs are insane and it makes the margins thin. We also treat our backers very well. If you ask some of the STASIS backers they will tell you how good the quality was of the deluxe boxed edition. The USB will include the digital art book and extras - but printing this will add to much to the total reward tier price to justify doing it.
