I think Beamdog is too talented to work on older games. Its a shame to push someone of their talent to work on old titles when they clearly have what it takes to make the next gaming masterpiece, which will elevate the medium to the level of true art. So I propose they only be allowed to work on new IPs from now on!

Hm, I seem to remember Beamdog weren't too enthusiastic about that. Probably due to the fact that IWD2 uses a different rule set than the BG titles and the first IWD. Which means they'd have to do a lot more than simply take the work they already did and just apply it to another game. >_>

well let's see how this turns out - maybe it will be an "untouched" remaster this time which i totally wouldn't mind. Can't really comment on their changes to BG here as while i own their version i have not played them yet

WTF? After Beamdog butchered Baldur's Gate 1+2 and IWD they now want to ruin Planescape: Torment too?!! O.o

Planescape: Torment is fine as it is, we don't need a "remastered" version of it! And the worst thing is that the original version will probably disappear from stores as soon as the "new" version comes out.

Beamdog should just stop butchering old classics, this is getting ridiculous!

I'm surprised they waited this long, would have thought it made more sense for this to come out before new Torment.

It might not be so bad. They've made a lot of mistakes but maybe they've learned from their errors. And if they didn't they'll probably become insolvent and never touch a classic again. It's a win-win situation.

Yeah, I read that they changed some "sexist" dialogues and characters, added some SJW lines and a trans NPC.

I don't know if at least they fixed the new bugs and the interface, by now.

I just wanted to say (I am expecting to get downvoted for this...) that there were some logical reasons for merging the EEs and the originals of Baldurs Gates and IWD. Mainly so customers are less confused about which edition they need to buy, combining remasters with the originals is something that always done (See Gearbox and the Homeworld Remasters, Larian and the Divinity Enhanced Edtions) and store parity as the originals were not sold on steam (Only the Enhanced Editions) and so they were merged so that both Steam and GoG offered the same deal.
