Hmmm, no GOG logo. I guess it's not coming here on launch day.
Please tell me this game is coming to Gog.

*fingers crossed*

it might eventually, but since its likely using steamworks probably not for quite sometime I would imagine.
Interesting.
Not that impressive graphically though.

Yeah that steamworks in the trailer doesn't look good for a Gog release but I still remain hopeful. I ask everyone interested in the Battlezone series to go vote for them on the Community Wishlist to increase the chance of seeing these games released here.
Oh wow awesome! One of the best, if not the best first person perspective action/rts games out there. I do hope they plan to do something to simplify the giving of orders while they're at it. From what I remember it involved navigating menus with the number keys 1-9 and could be a real hassle, especially in the middle of combat.
Deathmatches are going to be epic though! A real rts experience directly from the battlefield : placing buildings & turrents, protecting harvesters, setting patrols etc.

By the way, the original already works 100% on at least a 64 bit win 7 system:

edit : as far as I know it's officially free

The gameplay and incredibly natural feel of the vehicles is what makes this game.
All that seems to have changed is: added steam, added online multiplayer, added steam workshop mods.
I don't know how that is "redux", for me it is meh. Bring it here without the steam gubbins, and *optional* galaxy, then might look at it.

Oh I know, it's just that I'd expected more after all this time.
I'm still interested though.

Mmm, that doesn't balance of the steam rubbish though. To note, there is this on Moddb for the game:

Apparently someone is still updating it to run on modern systems with map packs.

Sure, especially since the original is free and, at least on my system, 100% playable. Depending on the price I would consider it worth it if
- A steady multiplayer community develops with some fresh players. I don't imagine there's a large community still playing the game, and if there is, I imagine most of them are too good :P
- They streamline the cumbersome system used to give orders.
Great. Have been meaning to play this one again for ages. Hope it will find its way to GOG.

Speaking of which: anybody know if Battlezone 2 is any good? I remember getting blown away by the previews but I never read an actual review and never got to play it.
