Well, I'm more of a Marvel reader so, the teaser felt a bit like "meh"... I have yet to watch Man of Stell (aka Super-neck-breaker), I'm not a big fan of Snyder's work and the whole DC movies "planning" way just leave me doubtfull of what they will achieve... Not to mention the stupid decision of not casting Manu Bennett for the Suicide Squad movie..

Honestly, True Survivor / Kung Fury made me 10 times more jumpy than this one!

Batman vs. Superman? A normal human being with too much money and funny gadgets vs. a flying, invincible, super being with laser eyes? If Batman doesn't bring some kryptonite, Superman wouldn't even have to move to win this fight. Just stay on the couch and wait for Batman to die from old age or exhaustion oO

It is Lex we are talking about, right? Too much money, funny gadgets, highly intelligent etc fit Lex like a glove.

There's a small difference between Lex and Batman: Lex is an unscrupulous monster who either threatens to harm others or does some funny kryptonite-stuff. That's how he fights Superman. But Batman is a good guy who won't harm innocents. So... If he doesn't carry some kryptonite batarangs, the fight is over bevor it even begins (and if he has kryptonite batarangs, Superman is toast).

Seriously, what could Batman do? Hit Superman? Throw some explosive crap? Run him over with his Batmobile? Tickle him? oO It's SUPERMAN! The guy who carries airplanes! The guy who doesn't have a scratch after being burried under a skysraper! What is Batman compared to him?

Okay, I stopped reading comics 15 years ago, so maybe Superman is showing some signs of old age by now, but... Back then Batman would be no match for the man of steel :/

I'm not sure I'd say for certain there is no Batman. The shows just focus on a different area. He certainly could be added...

The whole fun of a Batman/Superman fight is in how mismatched they are, and seeing what Batman comes up with. Unlike most fights that are about being faster or stronger this one is all about being clever and creative. And yes, some outstanding circumstances aside Batman has got to lose. But the fight can still be very creative and fun, much more than when Superman is just punching someone like Doomsday.

My favourite is probably in the New Frontier special issue, with the first meeting of that versions of Batman and Superman, with Supes sent by the goverment to capture Batman. Batman has this whole plan set up, and he beats the crap out of Superman, to the point where Clark is really scared for maybe the first time in his life, and it's pretty much only that desperation that gives him strenght to win, at which point Wonder Woman shows up and break up the fight. A great example of a Batman/Superman duel, that does justice to both characters.

I'm pretty sure it's been made explicit by the creators that Batman (and Superman) are not on the table. Also, I feel Batman would at least have been mentioned by this point in the Arrow/Flash universe. Ra's al Ghul would say something like "you're good, but you're not the Detective", or something like that. I know in theory they might add him at some point, but I feel this universe makes more sense if we assume it's Batman-free.

Now, for the unscrupulous monster part, Batman is the kind of person that has turned his back on Gotham (see No Man's Land), has been known to endanger underage people (all his side kicks), and does believe that the end justify the means. Only difference between Lex and Batman is what he considers the goal to be, and his reluctance to take a life (though reluctance, he has been known to kill). He has been known to threaten to harm innocents to prevent harm to himself (see "One Night in Gotham").

So no, a genius billionaire with fancy gadgets is easily a match for Superman, even though he does need quite a bit of preparation.

On screen yes, clearly off the table, but I wouldn't be so surprised if they develop a precursor Justice League, probably the one where Black Canary is a founding member and Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman are not.

I took the Wayne Enterprises drop as a young Batman might be out there somewhere in the greater world. Especially since these are essentially origin stories.

Actually thal last part was a ruse, and as to end justifying the means, that's only true to a certain extant for Batman. As was shown many times, his everyday methods might be more brutal than those of most DC heros, but in extreme situations they might be willing to cross lines he never would. Also, I don't think he ever killed anyone, at least not intentionally in any in-canon story.

And not sure what the current canon is, but he'll probably kill again at some point. He just doesn't like to do so.

Almost all of those examples come from the really old comics, before his no guns/no killing policy was established, non-canon (and bat-shit crazy) stories like All-Star, Tim Burton's movie, all are not examples of killing at all (KGBeast not being actually left to die, and Joker definately not being dead, or even assumed dead after Killing Joke. Also, unless Joker breath through his arms there is no strangling there no matter how hard you squint). Also, I haven't read the Cult, but from what I know of the story that definately can't be considered "intentionall". I guess the junkyard is the only one that could be "intentionall and in continuity", but I haven't read that story, so I can't be sure.
