It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

snowkatt: so its not just me then

ill make do with the slowdown
I'd kinda wish GoG would take what Barefoot is doing, and apply it to their site. Some of it is much better to do server side. Some of it, simply caching the result of your library and having you re-download the compressed gz block of game data would be good unless there's an update that affects your games or you add new games when it re-compiles the list. Leaving out games on the sales pages, or moving them to 'already owned games on sale' list or something...

Barefoot does do some fixes, but it's more a band-aide. Some parts of the site need to be re-tweaked for speed and simplicity, and the work has to be done more server side when it's applicable and makes sense. Loading a tiny page for your library with your list of games, then pinging the server once for each game to propagate the list is very very inefficient.

Oh no, it really shouldn't have any effect on page loading time. Mind if I ask which browser you're using to I can try to reproduce this and maybe get it sorted out? I know snowkatt's using SeaMonkey.

It's like FireFox 15? I'd have to look, as that's a different computer.

I doubt you'd be able to duplicate it... Namely

1) Background processes using 100% of any idle cycles for scientific donation, or recompression.
2) CPU's power settings are set at 50% (Due to cooling problem)
3) I have 2 FireFox windows with like 20 tabs total open, so sometimes Firefox is using it's 25% for seemingly no reason (until i restart it and pages don't load til i tell them to).
4) It has no effect on page downloading, but there are a few seconds added while it's processing what games NOT to show as it goes over it's list...
5) Other background scripts going. Including AdBlocker Plus and... ummm... a few others... I forget what all exactly.

Not sure if this is a bug, but apparently GOG made some changes and though I've set the favicon to the old one, every page I open after loggin in now displays the new one - which looks terrible on my dark Firefox theme.

Anyone else experiencing this?

For me it's inconsistent.

Most of the time, when I click the favicon on my toolbar, it changes to the new purple on white while loading and reverts to the good ol' green-orange on black when the loading is done.

However, occasionally it gets stuck on the purple on white (not sure what the trigger is), which I notice only when I try to click the favicon again and can't seem to find it as I instinctively scan my toolbar looking for a dark favicon, not a light one.

I just disabled favicons altogether, no more worries.
The new favicon seems to have won. Nothing I do makes it change back to the old favicon despite the BE setting. On firefox 33.1.

Are you sure you're on 31.1 and not on 33.1?

Thanks. Fixed.

I see why. GOG has finally changed the old secure.gog.com/favicon.ico and you probably don't have the old one in your cache - next version I'll embed the icon so that this is no longer a problem.

(cue jokes about Cthulu in the cache)

You're right, I automatically delete my cache on closing firefox. Thank you.

Thank you! The new one has me very confused every time I glance at my tabs to find a site. Plus, it's kinda ugly... =/ Less personality in comparison to the green-orange on dark.
