Wurzelkraft: Are you sure? Without the script I was able to attach five files without problems and the button was still clickable. :S
Give me a moment to double check this and post my findings. ;-)

OK, I disabled the script and attached five files without any issues. The button was still clickable, but the system won't let you attach more files - it returns the message you mentioned.

I did the same test with the script enabled - same result.

So, it's not a script issue, but a GOG system limitation.

See also my post here which I've edited to reflect the situation accurately. :-)

One more question for those using the distinct quotation style - does quoted text look different from that of your own reply in the preview window, i.e. while you're still typing your reply?

It doesn't for me (doesn't even have that vertical line on the left of it), which I'm almost certain was the case with the old script, even after the site revamp.

@Barefoot_Monkey

If this is confirmed by others, i.e .not an issue at my end only, is this by design or a bug?

EDIT: forgot link
With script enabled:
http://i.imgur.com/fO8dzrR.png (can't click the button anymore after the fourth file)

With script disabled:
http://i.imgur.com/E5prdvb.png (can click button; "correct" error message thereafter)

I'm confused.

Yes, it does look different and with the vertical line on the left.
Eagerly awaiting Chrome update. :)

First off, I've also noticed the layout and position of the various buttons (attach, cancel, post) with and without the script enabled.

But the fact that the attach button is inactive when the script is enabled, is due to the files being placed on top of the button - look closer, it's evident in your screenshot. If you go to edit your post, the button gets on top and you can add one more file.
If the file-names are shorter, than they don't overlap the attach button and it's still clickabale, regardless of the status of the script.

I'm sorry, I wasn't clear. I meant if there's a distinction between them in the Preview window while one is still typing their reply.

I'll edited my question to reflect that and also attach a screenshot, sorry again. :$

Apparently the script changes the positioning of the buttons for me. I completely disabled Greasemonkey to test this and I have no other scripts that change anything about gog. Strange issue.

It does it for me too, but the issue is a combination of the buttons being repositioned and of file-names length.

Perhaps Barefoot_Monkey can look into the repositioning of the buttons issue.

Do you remember if it was different before? I'm almost certain that Preview showed how exactly one's post would look after hitting the submit button, and I relied heavily on Preview when finalising the format of my posts.

I'm sure that Barefoot_Monkey is reading our comments and will iron things out over time. :-)

That's why I used the same file to try this so it is no coincidence. ;)
I hope he'll take a look. :)

It was different alright. The quoted part would look gray as opposed to white.

Yup, even if I don't always reply to each comment I make sure to read every single one :)

I just made a second update for today. The preview should now properly style quotes and not obstruct the attach button.

Oh yes! Thanks so much for fixing stuff so promptly! :-D

The Preview for quick reply works great, the attach button issue is a bit messy, but at least the buttons is functional regardless of file-name length.

Please note that the quote style I use is distinct, though it doesn't seem like it if I use the "reply" button instead of the "quick reply" one.

*wishes for the nth time, attaching was possible in quick reply*
