darthspudius: NEW wave of british heavy metal. It was the second generation of heavy metal from the UK. The first being the likes of Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, UFO etc in the '70s. Then came Iron Maiden, Def Leppard, Saxon and so on in the '80s.

omega64: Oh alright.
It was a big deal at the time haha.

I'm sure.

darthspudius: The Beautiful South, they're a great band.
They are in deed. And they've still got it, they were great live.

avatar
adaliabooks: It's not quite rock, but having just seen them in concert (kind of) on Monday I've been singing their stuff all week;

The Beautiful South - Don't Marry Her [original explicit version - HQ]
avatar
omega64: Really like the songs, especially this one.
Good, glad you like them :)

avatar
adaliabooks: As for more rocky stuff, I could recommend quite a bit but I imagine you'd already know most of it...
avatar
omega64: I doubt it, I spent most of my music time listening to older songs. :P
Well, in that case :P
Foo Fighters - Everlong
Foo Fighters - The Pretender
Red Hot Chilli Peppers - Californication
Red Hot Chilli Peppers - Zephyr Song
The White Stripes - Seven Nation Army
The Goo Goo Dolls - Iris
The Goo Goo Dolls - Slide
Kings of Leon - Revelry
Pearl Jam - Better Man
Pixies - Monkey Gone to Heaven
Pixies - Gigantic
Razorlight - America
The Smashing Pumpkins - Today
Stone Temple Pilots - Interstate Love Song
Thin Lizzy - Black Rose
Thin Lizzy - The Rocker

Just a selection... don't feel you need to listen to them all, but there might be something you like in there :)

Maxvorstadt: Is the thread title a hint for the next AAA release here on GoG?
It's This Week's Enigmatic Hint!

There were quite a few in there. :)
Some of the music videos were really strange though.

I listen to a lot of music :)

Can't say I'm overly familiar with all the video's I linked, just the songs. But of the ones I do actually know they can be pretty odd..

Me too these days, but I still have a fairly large library of stuff from when I was more adventurous and bought more music.

Problem for me is most actually new music is crap.. so it's more often I find old music that's new to me that I like instead :)

Yeah, I just got a all time top 1000 list and went through that.
There just had to be something in there.

Yeah, that's not a bad way of doing things. As you say you're likely to find at least a few artists or songs you like, even if a lot of it might not be to your tastes (or not as good as the list compiler makes out)
