Petrell: (ie. I hope steam forum's resident haters and trolls find something else to pick on in the meantime and press are lenient about devs apparent lack of professionalism and still cover the game when time comes).
Wow, you weren't kidding, the guys over there went full retard and my favourite is the guy that advices to release the game on EA during the Winter sale at 50% discount, lol, what a bunch of entitled pricks.

It's sad that we reach a point were people are so desperate to play a game that they demand it to be released earlier (EA) than to wait 2 months for a more robust game.
- I'm looking to buy a new pair of trousers, are these ones any comfortable?
- Yes, they've got plenty of Balrum.
I concur with the sentiment that it is GREAT that they delayed the release. I'm in no rush for MORE rpgs, ya know? Release it when it's good and ready.

Petrell: Due to devs apparent lapse in judgement caused exhaustion from overwork, the release (originally planned for 14th of December, then delayed to 16th and finally to current release estimate) has been pushed back to February 2016. Devs seem to have burned themselves out (working long days all week including weekends on the game for past few months) in desperate attempt to get it released before Christmas and made the release blunder in their exhausted delirium.

I just hope that this debacle does not bite them in the ass when they finally release the game (ie. I hope steam forum's resident haters and trolls find something else to pick on in the meantime and press are lenient about devs apparent lack of professionalism and still cover the game when time comes).
Could have been worse; if the game was released some days ago...

I'm almost certain, there would have been much more hate in the steam forum (which its already unbelievable for some games -_-)

so yes better to have pushed back the release..... it's not a first world problem....
Minecraft meets Ultima 7. The latter I could go for, the former not so much.
It looks interesting.
Will check the links later - was there an alpha or beta released to backers at any point? (im not a backer but am curious). Last time i looked it seemed their forum was either dead or full of spam...

Yes, we backers do have access to alpha/beta builds but it does not contain entire game. The last version we've been given is version 0.90.274 where as the Colonel RPG's press preview build is v. 0.98 so it's lot newer.

I don't know about rest of the backers but I provided my feedback thru e-mail, not the official forum.
Dont you guys find it odd you didnt get the latest builds?

Considering they were about to release the game, not really. They probably plannet pushing out final 1.0 builds both to steam and to their own servers on release so it would not have mattered anyway. Now they have to decide wether or not they need backers help in finding bugs and fixing balance in the later portion of the game (the part we have had no access to) or not.
Balrum has been released for 13,49€ (10% launch discount from 14,99€ lasts until 7th of March)

Story
It's twenty years after your village fled the kingdom and took refuge in Darkwood. You always knew that these woods hold dark secrets but now you start to feel it's evil on your own skin. Horrible things are happening. You discover fragments of the woods dark history and come to the conclusion that you have to leave your home. You know in your heart that once you step out of the protection of the place where you grown up, nothing will be the same. You have to face a world that's in chaos. A world without laws. Nevertheless you feel something else too. You feel freedom. A completely new world awaits you to explore it, but the feeling quickly turns into guilt. There are people in Darkwood who are counting on your help. You are their last hope.

NOTE: Thank you to all our backers on Kickstarter for making this game possible.
Devs are busy with Steam release and getting keys to backers so considerations about release on other platforms will have to wait. Game is DRM-free however and we backers will be getting DRM-free copy downloadable directly from developers so I don't see any reason it would not arrive here when things calm down. Meantime everyone wanting it here should vote for it on community wishlist.

Got my key, am looking forward to playing it today.
I was really into the idea of playing this game but now that it's released I'm just not in the mood to play it.. :(

I guess the upside is that when I do hopefully the game will be released here and bugs will have been fixed.
