Let me start by saying that I am not a regular poster on forums at all, not here on GOG or any other forums for that matter. I however stumbled upon this game on Kickstarter and was so surprised by its features that I thought I would share it with you guys and gals.

Simply put, Balrum is an RPG with a feature list that could/would/should attract a lot of oldschool gamers ( it did the trick for me and I insta-backed them). The game has: housing, farming, extensive crafting, pets, training, the need to eat, durability etc. etc. And that all besides the 'standard' RPG fare

I would encourage you guys to go take a look at their page and hopefully you will be just as pleasantly surprised as I was, if not, no harm done I reckon. Furthermore, these guys can far better explain what the game is all about then I can, see for yourselves at Kickstarter

Please know that I am in no way connected to the actual developers, just really enthusiastic and I can not imagine there aren't more people out there that would absolutely love this game if they only knew about it.

Thanks again for reading and hopefully I made you discover a little gem in the making.

Great, couldn't post a link myself due to the low rep rate I have, thanks!

I wasn't actually waiting for a RPG...
Looks somewhat interesting though, but not enough for me to actually donate or keep track of the project.
Yes, I've been following this a little, seems like the design is in flux though, I kinda wish they would nail down the features they are and aren't going to put in the game.

But I'm glad they are actually making the housing and farm stuff actually have a point in the game, ie you need food to eat or you'll starve. As oppose to pointless LARPing

This... Looks pretty awesome. But I've seen so many games that looked good at first, but then turned out to be shit, that I'm not gonna get too excited. Might chuck a dollar for it tho.
It's not the RPG I've been waiting for, but it looks pretty decent. I'll keep an eye on it.
Looks interesting game but not an rpg that jumps out at me for some reason.

LARPing?

Elmofongo: LARPing?
LARPing in this context means performing in-game actions that are not recognised mechanically, e.g. eating regularly in a game that doesn't have a hunger mechanic or temporary stat buff to encourage doing so. If a feature or action doesn't have any tangible effect it's just meaningless make-believe.

Elmofongo: LARPing?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Live_action_role-playing_game

It's an RPGCodex thing used to refer to cosmetic things in RPGs which don't have any effect on the gameplay, ie roleplaying outside the mechanics, make-believe, pretending.

Baking bread in Ultima 7 :)
I'd already backed the game but I probably wouldn't go far as saying its what all GOGers want

The gamers on GOG forums are quite a diverse bunch and I don't think you can group us all in one batch. Some loved turn-based, others hate it. Some love TES series, others hate it. Some don't care for RPGs at all.

I know what you are trying to say though. This game seems like its from the time when development teams were small and wanted to make a game where you could do anything. I'm certainly hoping they get enough backing.
The game looks and sounds very interesting, thanks for letting us know!
Ooohhh! This looks good!
Thank you for posting this! + 1

This does look nice. Thank you for posting it, especially so early on that there are plenty of early bird places left for those interested.
