LesTyebe: . . to break my fundamental game purchasing ruleset.
1. Never pay full price.
2. Never buy anywhere near launch.
3. Never buy anything at or near maximum radius of it's positive or negative hype bubble.
I dont really get that last rule, but the first two usually make sense, especially if its clear you wont play this game too often anyway.
But I watched multiple Youtubers playing BG3 (not the complete game of course) and I decided I liked what I see well enough to purchase it now and not later.
Of course ironically if I had bought the game immediately I could already play it. Right now the downloads are inoperable though.

csanjuro: the only game I paid full price was Fallout: New Vegas
but it's was worth it every penny
Cool. Thats subjective though. Personally, I have no interest in playing Fallout. The whole setting repels me.

kai2: PS -- I find the "outcry" against BG3 from a number of developers to make me want to play it -- and support Larian -- even more.
Yeah that one was the weirdest thing ever. They might as well have waved flags "hey for your information we are a-holes".
---
Breja: 1. The price is ridiculously high for me. It's more than I ever paid for a game, even a physical edition on release.
... wha ? The price is completely normal for a new release game.
---
Zimerius: it is a challenge not to give in to a hype of this magnitude :p
Not for me.

paladin181: The Steam version is DRM-Free, too. It also supports cloud saves
Yeez it supports me storing private data on the internet ? Yeah thats totally a thing I want to do. Never ever.
