- Competitive in nature, to me it is like going to play football with friends, all I want is to beat the other team.

Of course even Team Fortress is kinda "social" because you are playing in a team. Many don't care about helping others in the team but just do their own stuff, while others actively try to support others too. Then again the participants usually keep changing from game to game so it is not like most other players become familiar to you, especially as many keep also changing their player name from time to time. And in a way that is fine to me, I don't need to personally know or recognize the other players in the team, as long as they try their best and support each other.
I've been many times thinking that if I had never tried out Quake Team Fortress in the past, it is possible I wouldn't play any online games (because TF games seem to be the only online games that interest me for some reason). I did consider trying out World of Tanks at some point, especially as it is free-to-play too (so i can test it out without any initial investment).
