MarkoH01: I never understood this. Yes, I am aware about the reputation of the song as well as the nonsensical lyrics and the absolutely stupid music video ... but I can't help it. I love listening to it.
80s was the best time. Best movies, best music and best games - period.
That's Ok because I can't understand how anyone can like it.The lyrics are stupid, the music is corny(for lack of a better word), and the chorus is not catchy at all. I was around when the song first came out, and I disliked it before it became well known as a hated song (I didn't know about everybody hating until the 2000s. I remember seeing a comedy theater group in 2003 where they mocked the song, and thinking "yeah that song SUCKED" . ). It's just a downright bad and incredibly stupid song imo.

Sanc: I wasn't aware of some reputation for this song, so i googled around and
https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-lists/readers-poll-the-10-worst-songs-of-the-1980s-20488 A truly ridiculous poll honestly , there are way way way worse in the eighties than any of those 10 songs
Well, i guess that's the perfect example of the old saying "opinions are like assholes, everybody has one" .
My opinion/asshole:
Safety Dance was awesome. So was Mickey. Don't Worry Be Happy, Rock Me Amadeus were good. Lady in Red and Final Countdown were just whatever. Putting on the Ritz I did like back in the day, but I didn't know it was a cover so I guess I liked it because of the original version. Looking back now the Taco version seems pointless and adds nothing. Wake Me Up Before You GoGo and We Built This City were and still are obnoxious cheesy trash
