It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).

Every time I try and add an attachment now I get a pop up saying WRONG FILE FORMAT. They are all JPEG, which is what I've used forever here... including today IIRC.

Anyone else having an issue?

Thank you. So it's me.

And I have no clue what it could be. Every time I try and add an attachment now (something I've done a billion times, including earlier today) a pop up box shows up saying WRONG FILE FORMAT. I even tried some jpeg files that I had used as attachments here before... now no good.

Goddamnit.

TL:DR: make sure the file extension of the image you're trying to attach is in lower case.

Can you tell me how to change it to lower case?? And I'm pretty sure it's always been this away, unless a windows update that happened this evening changed it.

I'm using Windows 10 and I can't figure out how to change the name from capture.JPG to capture.jpg

Assuming you have file extensions shown, rename the file as usual and change the extension. The change will be visible once you refresh explorer (either F5 or leave that folder and return).

No the extensions aren't shown. Is that a folder setting I guess? I'll look there.

In the menu bar, click on view and tick the "File Name Extensions" checkbox.

What JMich said above should do the trick.

As per the change in behavior, don't rule out some update on GOG's forum backend...

Oh doh. THANK YOU.

And yes THAT WORKED. Don't know what happened, but he only thing I can think of is the Windows Update that happened tonight must have changed those extensions from small letters to capital ones because I've been successful attaching those very same files here before.

Maybe... but something else also occurred tonight. My Firefox updated to Firefox Quantum. OK. But then I come here to download a couple of games and discover DownThemAll no longer works. Furious, I use Windows system restore to restore to two days ago.

Sure enough, my Firefox is back ( the non-quantum version) but DownThemAll still doesn't work... until I remove it and reinstall it. Now it works as always. Then after I did all of that Windows updated.

So maybe it was the Windows update, the Firefox fiasco, or the system restore.

And also now I can no longer do a speed test at the XFinity site, which is what I've been using forever (mainly because my ISP is Comcast/XFinity. But I always liked using the same speed test site so that I could be sure any differences were in fact actual differences instead of possible differences due to different speed test sites. But I simply cannot get that one to work anymore. So either the Firefox fiasco or the windows update must've permanently borked that.

I have the same problem and I tried that but my computer automatically displays it back in upper case after changing the extension.
I've been having the same problem.

The reason is that new Firefox version killed a lot of extensions.
I'm staying on 52 ESR for a while, because I need advanced features more than a 2 sec faster starting barebone browser.
It's been intermittent with me, but they're currently attaching.
