Wow, the hate in this thread (for no good reasons) is terrific.

Anyway, I have played this game on the GOG party in a small pub in Cologne during Gamescom 2014 (event was awesome, why haven't there been more of those?). The people at the event and I had a blast playing and it was pretty much the most fun anyone had there. Decided to buy the game via Humble Widget (DRM free + Steam) after I found that it wasn't available at GOG just yet -we all know how that went. The game made slow but steady progress during Early Access but was already perefectly playable at any point since it launched back in 2014.

Be sure to give it a try if you like local multiplayer games mixing co-op and versus elements pertty decently. =) Here are some better trailers btw:

But that's the point. I absolutely hate those. So I'm not the target audience, I guess.

What do you mean by "for no good reasons"? Did you watch the trailer? Now imagine how it looks to someone who has never heard of this game before.
As someone who absolutely loves pixel-art and isn't part of the (apparent) GOG Forum majority of indie pixel-art haters, I must say my interest in this game has died altogether. Maybe if they had released it two years ago, before beautiful pixel-art games like Enter the Gungeon, Hyper Light Drifter or the superb Owlboy I would consider trying it. But they took too long and now, to be completely honest, I couldn't care less.

I'm their target audience and I'm not interested in their game at all. Not hating on indies, not hating on pixel-art, not hating on "pseudo-retro" or whatever, just stating they took too long to release their game and it doesn't hold any appeal to me anymore.

Sorry for venting, shouldn't have done that here. Yah, the launch trailer is terrible for, well, the usual purpose of a typical launch trailer.

I'm just so tired of the toxic atmosphere in the GOG forums these days, there general attitude was much more positive a few years ago. Wish the team here would pay more attention to proper moderation and focus on improving the forum software. This community once was one of the main reasons I loved being around on GOG.com, it's mostly about the games for me these days.

Towards other members in general, sure. But I don't recall a time when people generally praised absolutely shitty trailers, nor would I wish for such a situation ;-)
This made me remember that totally unrelated metroidvania game that had an unrelated homonymous from back in the 90s and, then, I spent quite a few minutes trying to find it out without knowing the name until its name magically sprang back into my mind: Chasm.
Glad to hear that it will finally be evicted from its long-held spot on the "Upcoming" tab. It's been there so long it installed a sprinkler system for the lawn and remodeled the kitchen!

Oh hey, it has actual pixel graphics! And real art! Not a bad looker, that.
Actually i'm surprised that people still remember Crawl, i already forgot about it so I just checked it's Steam store page.

So after crawling around in early access since over 2 years they released update v0.12 in December 2016. And now suddenly only 4 months later the game is supposed to be finished and released? Yeah sure, make me laugh! :D

Looks like this is another game that's rushed from alpha version to final version and it will most likely be unfinished and buggy. No thanks!!!

I don't get what you are trying to say. The game got regular and mostly quite meaty updates every few months. It's a two man project btw.

The game was stable two years ago and still is. I had multiple multiplayer sessions with some friends featuring different versions of Crawl and we had a blast playing it.

LOL I'm happy for the devs and all the people looking forward to this...

... but I have to admit a sick and evil part of me will be bummed that it will no longer be coming... "soon." ;)
I like the art style, but local multiplayer only is useless to me, so I'll pass unless they add online MP.
Will GOG's version also have this boss?

it's not a boss, but yes it will.
