Senteria: Yeah just ask if it is possible to get a GOG key for Armikrog instead of the given steam key. And if it's not possible, why would this be? (you can include convos with the devs). Ask if it's because of any obligatory reasons.

shmerl: OK, I submitted a question to HB. It might take a while before they respond. You can also do it here: https://support.humblebundle.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

tamablenebula: And if that fails, you could always ask Pencil Test for a refund, saying you want to buy the game from GOG. No idea how they would react though. :)
avatar
shmerl: I don't think you can ask for the refund - they kept their pledge which was loose enough and didn't specify GOG explicitly.
Well I'm in bed about to sleep so I'll hear it later or ask humble as well
Backer waiting on a GOG key too here and quite tired of all this BS. Some people will just never see the tail of any backing from me ever again...

shmerl: From their response it seems like their agreement with HB can potentially prevent them from offering backers' rewards through GOG (I asked them to clarify this point):

The Humble Store is handling all distribution of the game to the backers. On your download page you have the option to either recieve a Steam key, or if you don't like Steam or DRM, you can directly download a DRM free version of the game. The game is available for sale on GOG, but GOG is not handling any of the Kickstarter reward distribution. We appreciate that you have contacted GOG and they say they are glad to help, but we have an agreement with the Humble Store to fulfill all our Kickstarter rewards.

shmerl:
Well that shouldn't be an issue really. DFA/Broken Age distributed GOG keys through Humble just like Steam keys, so it's possible. Unless they have specifically agreed to some weird anti-GOG clause in some contract.
Well, we tried...

Steam isn't handling any of the Kickstarter reward distribution either but you are still giving out steam keys.

Yes, their response is confusing. We are now waiting for a comment from HB.
We already know that HB is able to distribute GOG keys... I don't think that HB is blocking here but let's see what they have to say.

To me all the responses from devs look more like "HB is distributing kickstarter rewards, consult it with them, not us" than "we don't want to give out GOG keys". I'd say let's try asking HB directly if there's a chance of adding GOG keys, the devs seem to simply not want to deal with distribution in any way at this point.

The response is ambiguous on purpose, which usually hides some contract which can't be discussed. If it's not the case - then it's just silly. I already sent this question to HB, so we'll have to wait for them to respond.

shmerl: Seems like HB required an exclusive deal?
I wonder if it's the same reason why the Satellite Reign "couldn't"/"didn't want to" give GoG key to backers (I asked them).

I don't like any exclusive deals with distributors. Those only hurt end users, and I hope HB are not into that kind of stuff.
Yeah! GOG keys are here for all backers!!!
Thank you very much Pencil Test Studios!

^^ It's up in our humble bundle library. :)

Great reaction from the devs for once...

Fantastic news.
Yeah, that was fast! Big kudos to Pencil Test for resolving this! And thanks for everyone involved for helping backers to get the game here on GOG.

In response to the backers who have been disappointed that there was not an option to receive your game through GOG, we spent the last day working with the Humble Store, GOG and our publishing partner Versus Evil to try and address the issue. There is now an option on your Armikrog download page to download the game from GOG. If you go to your page you'll see a tab marked GoG next to the Steam tab. Enjoy.
