adaliabooks: SirPrimalform wrote to the devs and explained how to get keys and it seemed to work... might be worth a try here.

I was just quoting the thread I saw in case it helped...

Senteria: I wonder if all of us showed armikrog in their humble bundle page or some proof of being a backer, maybe GOG will give us the game without the dev interference, though i dont think GOG would like. =x
For that they need permission from developers. If we'll manage to arrange such thing, GOG can probably do their part.

Perhaps, but it's not like anyone will have any lost sales anyway.

GOG just can't do it without permission. And why Pencil Test don't want to do it - who knows. So far they didn't answer the question even though they posted right after it: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/armikrog/armikrog/comments?cursor=11247299#comment-11247298

May be they think that giving out more keys will make people use them incorrectly and such (no idea, I'm just guessing). Though I find it wrong when backers are concerned.

From their response it seems like their agreement with HB can potentially prevent them from offering backers' rewards through GOG (I asked them to clarify this point):

The Humble Store is handling all distribution of the game to the backers. On your download page you have the option to either recieve a Steam key, or if you don't like Steam or DRM, you can directly download a DRM free version of the game. The game is available for sale on GOG, but GOG is not handling any of the Kickstarter reward distribution. We appreciate that you have contacted GOG and they say they are glad to help, but we have an agreement with the Humble Store to fulfill all our Kickstarter rewards.
Seems like HB required an exclusive deal?

Yeah, sounds like a good idea. I'll try contacting HB to figure out if anything is blocking it on their side.
So apparently it is something about the agreement that prevents them, so there isn't much point to contact HB it seems:

We appreciate that other games have provided GOG keys through the Humble Store. That said, we have an agreement with the Humble Store to fulfill all of our Kickstarter rewards, and the current download page reflects the service the Humble Store is providing for us.
Sorry folks, it doesn't look promising to continue this.

Sounds like we don't get a key. :-(

Yep. Exclusive deal apparently. I'll make sure next time I back anyone, they put non exclusivity conditions in their campaign.

At least they pointed us to the DRM-free FLAC version of the soundtrack: https://danielamosboots.bandcamp.com/album/the-music-of-armikrog

I'll contact Terry Scott Taylor to ask why GOG release is MP3 only.

Never heard of exclusive deals with a distribution platform. Did you contact humble store? Otherwise I'll do so.

Senteria: Not really convinced it's an exclusive deal. Never heard of this actually. Did you contact humble store? Otherwise I'll do so.
Alright, I'll give it the last try and will contact HB anyway (you can do it as well - they are less likely to brush off the question in such case). If they'll say it's not exclusive, then I'll be really unsure why on earth Pencil Studios can't ask GOG for keys.

Yeah just ask if it is possible to get a GOG key for Armikrog instead of the given steam key. And if it's not possible, why would this be? (you can include convos with the devs). Ask if it's because of any obligatory reasons.

I mean obviously some stuff is behind an NDA but they can at least say that much.

And if that fails, you could always ask Pencil Test for a refund, saying you want to buy the game from GOG. No idea how they would react though. :)

OK, I submitted a question to HB. It might take a while before they respond. You can also do it here: https://support.humblebundle.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

I don't think you can ask for the refund - they kept their pledge which was loose enough and didn't specify GOG explicitly.
