Not everyone -- I got the games with Morrowind back in December 2015 (and would've gotten them again when I bought Fallout 3 at the beginning of this year), and they've never left my account.

Who the f*** cares.

Games that have been freeware for a long time.

If you don't have them on GOG add them.

If they were removed readd them.

Or download them from literally anywhere else because they are freeware.

Usually people want to remove free games from their catalogue not the other way around.

edit: apologies, it is the same thread coming up again and again not separate threads as I thought. But it is such a minor issue - collecting universally free games on GOG has no value - the games are free everywhere.

The amount of forum space taken up with Arena/Daggerfall is extraordinary because they are both free games given away by Bethesda a long time ago.

Just wanted to say still sad this is still happening and no official comment on it from a blue, nothing should be removed from a users account free or not. If they are then it should be announced by GOG not relying on a general user to let people know.

As for Arena and Daggerfall its likely because of the change of status but they could of just re-added it to all owners accounts as they can seem to mass remove...

Edit: Or get a better system where games don't get removed. Certainly something they need to solve.

And as Grargar already told you in his posts immediately following that one, no change was made to either game's installer after both titles were made free-to-claim. Braggadar's post in this thread confirms this as well.

I'm not sure it's so much that the games are still actively vanishing from people's accounts, so much as that there are still people noticing for the first time that the games have vanished from their accounts.

For the record, I agree with all of your other points, except for the notion that this was in any way a purposeful mass removal. It seems pretty clear to me that it's "just" a nasty bug that seems to have something to do with the change in status of how the games must be acquired. There are, after all, those of us who have not been affected, for whatever reason.

I will try to make this clear:-

Gog removed two games from my account, without any explanation. The only reason I noticed this was an eagle eyed forum user posting on this forum.

As an experiment, I "reacquired" one of them, daggerfall, using the methods described by other users.

I have confirmed that the reinstatement does not match my backups.

I asked via a support ticket that the reacquired daggerfall be removed from my account on the above basis.

I was informed that removing a game from an account is an impossibility.

I now view gog as a liability when purchasing.

lazydog's archived offline installers were years old and were replaced by newer versions a long time before the 2022 "library removal problem" occurred. Basically like a lot of games here, GOG updated the installers to allow cloud saves with Galaxy. For most people this change wasn't of any real consequence - the game remains the same as before.
