Ummmm Fairfox, that wasn't guacamole.

Toss out the tub dude, or that guac is going to turn a lot more colours than brown.

Source: I've seen what happens when dips expire.
It's more about the expiration date than the color...

Fairfox: So my guac is now brown. Likeee... k, it's not even just the top that's brown, but it's now permeated through to nearly the bottom of the tub (!). It doesn't taste as fresh, obvs, but it's so hideous to look at I have to mentally push myself to eat it. I'm sure if I was rich I would eat a spoonful and then throw away (or donate) the rest to peeps that need guac to, like, live, but I'm not and I hases to eat it. Yuck. Sigh.
i don't eat homemade guacamole past the first day for exactly this reason.
That's what the dogs are for. They eat poop, fercryinoutloud, so a change of color in your guacamole isn't going to faze them one bit.
I'm put off guacamole whatever color it is.
If you peeled an avocado, and found the flesh had all gone brown on the inside, would you eat it?

(Hint: by that point, the avocado's texture would have gone from soft/creamy to slimy/snotty.)

To quote Meghan Trainor: "No, no, no...You need to let it go."

Next time you make guac use sour cream to prevent browning.
