Themken: As mw.834515 already mentioned, the Ryzen 3000 for laptops are based on the 2000 for desktops and the 2000 for laptops are based on the very first desktop Ryzens. To add to that, they support only low RAM speeds which is extra bad for Ryzens. If your work is light and you want to support AMD, you can buy a Ryzen based laptop but Ice Lake from Intel is way superior, also expensive, also unlikely to be found with a LAN port but maybe there are some other than ultra thin models.
I need Ryzen because this CPU is better than Intel in terms of integrated GPU and I'm going to work with Unity engine.

TheDudeLebowski: My experience with HP has been the worst out of the brands I've tried. In 20 years of using laptops, HP is the only one to produce problems after daily use when in warranty, and completely failing short after the warranty has expired (up to a month max). My brother, relatives and friends all have similar experiences. I'd stay away if I were you.
Okay , so for you probook{buisness class} is the same as pavilon {consumer class} ?
MOST pavilon models are plastic , and if you search threw the forums most "hazard" is their cooling , and long perioid overheating generates what you tell - dead laptops barely after warranty .

Very true. The cooling was bad, and eventually fried the laptop. I can't remember my brother's HP model, but it had similar problems.

I remember owning a Compaq at some point, solely because they were great desktop replacements pre-HP acquisition. My original Compaq still works 20 years later. HP Compaq got fried. Cousin's HP had the same fate. Do keep in mind these had 4-digit price tags, same as their "business class", which I would assume would be subjected to lighter use.

To be honest, I wouldn't trust HP with whatever they put out.

TheDudeLebowski: Don't be fooled by their prices. My Pavilion cost as much as a high-end ProBook (looking at prices now), and as much as as my Lenovo Legion. I definitely "didn't get what I paid for".
Can you tell me your Pavilion specifications? And what are specifications of ProBook you were looking at?

Can't recall the specs, but you can gauge it when taking into account it's tech from ~5 years ago.

Like: ProBooks have more "quality", and Pavilions have more "quantity" at the same price?

Maybe. If you're sold on the ProBook, then by all means. I was just sharing my experience with HP.

Your post was good info for me! I hope you do not feel bad now because of our conversation.

I'm still not "sold" at 100% and every opinion counts for me. I just wanted to find out is why this info I've heard and read before (about Lenovo and HP laptops) is quite different from your personal experience.

Yes, I saw that review earlier and, for me, it was one of the reasons to be interested in this laptop.

BUT... I've heard and read so many bad things about Lenovo (low quality of products and their service) that I was looking for more opinions. I thought that ThinkPads are quite different series (and better) BUT (again) some of the users in this thread said that ThinkPads E series are not really in line with "the real Thinkpads" i.e. T series. I can't afford T so I will probably buy HP laptop I've mentioned in first post (after edit).

HP ProBook 445R G6 is still NOT the perfect laptop (and it costs more) but it has better quality of case material (HP: aluminum vs Lenovo: plastic), longer guarantee (HP: 3 years vs Lenovo: only 1 year!) and less strange problems I've heard about (ThinkPad E495's keyboard can change order of typed keys) - all these points are too strong to be easily ignored...

On the bolded bit, longer warranties don't always mean better...some cover less things or are harder to make use of if need be.

Also you should wait for cyber monday if buying online for the best deals.

Yes, I know that, but even "on paper" HP looks a little more sturdy to me.
Especially when combined with all these weird things I've heard about Lenovo.

a) much cheaper before the sale (their original prices were increased one or two weeks before that time)
b) hardly saleable (because of different reasons - low quality, ex-display, last pieces, older versions)
And I would prefer to buy laptop locally, not on "international market".

Why not international market? Because of shipping times?

You'd likely get a good deal and also some sites would give you a proper good deal on Cyber Monday(Newegg/etc), which is why I recommend at least checking out international/worldwide stores.

There are some reviews of Lenovo but they are mostly general ones.
HP is a newer model (released in August) and I can't find any detailed review either.

I've found much more written info for both laptops.
