Just to note, the link for the main game of Legend of Eisenwald has been fixed, however the DLC is still showing 404 Not found. Getting there.

not this time, no. The games that didn't run because there were traces left over, would indeed run because I removed EVERYTHING this time. I tested them all to be sure. This game did run fine, just the DLC did not show in game at all when galaxy was absent.
I feel like a broken record telling people I completely wiped Galaxy's existence from my machine. I had meticulously troubleshot all options, but thanks for double checking for me.

micktiegs_8: They told me that it was perfectly fine on their end.
One of Microsoft's finest technicans was drafted and sent to boot camp. At the rifle range, he was given some instruction, a rifle, and bullets. He fired several shots at the target. The report came from the target area that all attempts had completely missed the target.

The technician looked at his rifle, and then at the target. He looked at the rifle again, and then at the target again. He put his finger over the end of the rifle barrel and squeezed the trigger with his other hand. The end of his finger was blown off, whereupon he yelled toward the target area, "It's leaving here just fine, the trouble must be at your end!"

JudasIscariot: Neither of those issues were intended and no, we are not trying to force anyone to use Galaxy. If you choose to not use Galaxy and the game acts like it requires Galaxy , then please let us know.

Also, I believe Rebel Galaxy has been fixed so it should play nicely without Galaxy. I know because I ran it under Wine where I have no traces of Galaxy since it's not out for Linux yet.
The question / issue here wasn't on requirements, it was on focus. These games were clearly signed off on Galaxy, but not working without.

That's dangerously close to an implicit DRM client.

It usually occurs with systems that have had an older version of Galaxy back when it was still just the launcher. Emphasis on "usually". Again, it is not intended to be so and no one is trying to force anyone to use Galaxy if they have no wish to do so.

Wait, you masturbate to the thought of your parents walking in on you? o_O

No, I was totally serious. I thought I was the only one!

That's right, and I think they should focus on both: Provide as much Galaxy support as possible for every single game from the store, as well as make sure that every single game from the store works perfectly fine without the slightest trace of Galaxy. That's probably what they're aiming for, but it seems this ongoing process won't be completed within the next few months. I'm afraid we'll just have to be patient - unfortunately a rare virtue among gamers.
Last update from me on this matter:
I was 99% certain I had removed all traces of Galaxy. I hypothesise that Galaxy is indeed required for the DLC to show. To test my hypothesis, I needed a machine that had zero interaction with galaxy, or GOG; so I put Dungeons 2 and its DLC on my wife's PC.

Result - hypothesis tested successfully; the DLC did not show in the game.

Now I'm 100% certain.

So, it's either refund, or use Galaxy then. Just unacceptable.

Wonder if this is the case for the other DLC that are sold separately.

To be exact, according to this, you don't have to use galaxy, just install it.

I wonder how difficult it is for GOG to set aside one PC per OS that never had galaxy installed on it, just for pre-relase testing purposes.

Okay fair enough. Based on what you said that is how it sounded. I assume then the issue will probably be fixed soon though.
To note, Legend of Eisenwald DLC now also appears to be working.

That's fine Judas, I don't think anyone here's really insinuating insidious intent or some kind of conspiracy, just abject carelessness. As wpegg said, I think the problem is of focus and the fact that you guys seem to be in a little over your heads since the Galaxy and Witcher 3 launches.

But then, this is the problem with maintaining a global digital distribution service from a central source - essentially trying to handle the same support workload from a central point that thousands upon thousands of retailers or individual regional offices would previously have handled. The only one that seems to get this right is EA, but then their business has always been regionalised as opposed to GOG's and Steam's globalised approach.
