By "hot", I mean, temperatures over 110 degrees.

For example, yesterday's weather: High of 118 degrees (Fahrenheit, of course; 118 Celsius would be ridiculous) in Pheonix yesterday.

According to wundergound, it is supposed to be "cooler" (115 degrees) today.

(Apparently, there have been heat related deaths, including that of a personal trainer who had gone hiking and was clearly prepared with plenty of water.)

Fortunately, I don't live in Arizona, so I don't have as much heat, but it is still 80 degrees here (and this is early in the day).

(For those who are more comfortable with Celsius, note that 113 F = 45 C; that should give you an idea of how hot it is.)

It's the desert.

Am I supposed to be surprised by this? :P
Well, considering that Absolute Hot is theorized at 1.416785(71)×10^32 degrees kelvin, that's NOTHING. NOTHING.
Again, that's ~ 142 million million million million million degrees.
Ouchies. We get temperatures peaking at around 37-38°C here in Germany and that's enough to drive me around the bend. Mind you, that's usually a painfully uncomfortable humid heat. Arizona's heat is very dry.
What went so wrong that the US uses these peasant units like lbs and F?

I thought that, and then I checked Wikipedia and apparently the south is desert and the north is forest, so I thought it would be a dumb comment...

In Fallout: New Vegas you can walk from the scorching desert to forests with snow. So we know that. Fallout teaches. The teaches of Fallout.
You have to take into account that 45C in a desert does not feel the same as 45C somewhere else "non-deserty" :) because of humidity. High humidity at high temperatures is what is really uncomfortable. I very much doubt those 45C in Arizona are more uncomfortable than the levels of humidity which we here in Sarajevo often get in summer at 35C.
Time for some heat oriented desert rock.
Just remember to walk without rythm, and you should be fine.

Apparently, it's *Poland* in Poland right now. :P
You know it's a boring day if there's topics about the weather on forums.

I do believe the grass in the garden is growing rather splendidly today.

Maybe above 55 C, but 45, come on.
