Kickasstorrents are two faced hypocrites. They have allergy to EA copyrighted titles and their moderators passionately shut them down, but everything else is good with them if GOG games are pirated... When i nagged at their moderation for banning my old demonoid uploads (when demonoid closed and before it reopened), they said "They were forced to listen to company's plea for game removal, because they had to respect copyrights, so as they could be allowed to exist as a torrent site". Hell, i even proposed GOG stuff to notify them, so as they would remove torrents of gog games, before, but as it seems, they listen only to certain companies.

I don't like gog games being pirated. And i like hypocrites even less. As i said in the past, there is one very certain user right here in our forums, who uses the exact same avatar here, as in his content in piratebay (something like a pig but i won't reveal everything) and said user even has the audacity to bash piracy right here in our forums... And that "girl", too. Or that bastard who pirates gog games there and ASKS FOR DONATIONS, ergo he is profiting too besides stealing from us and damaging our rep.

I never pirated any gog game and i am never going to, for me, gog is what drove me off piracy and returned my trust in "owning" a game. It made me a buyer again. Those cretins though, must be dealt with. The nerve, for them to attack piracy in discussions and even other (former) pirates like me!!! Some pirates have honor, rules and consciousness; those vermin, on the other hand, they two-time even their own self, while owning zero self-esteem and character traits!

KAT is one of the few places that actually adheres to DMCA notices.

He's admitted it several times. His rationale is that he is being forced to do it because distributors use unfair sales practices.
How did you do that?

Well, I believe that a Ford Shelby isn't worth that much but I really, really want one.
Shall I go and steal it?

The games i pirated were DRMed and they were sold under licenses that don't allow you to fully own it.

You know you can be a straight person who speaks the truth without stopping being a gaffot, right? Straight, as a word, has many meanings. Like "come out straight". Something you intentionally never do.

PS. For the 20th time, i am no longer a pirate, especially since when gog brought here the titles i needed to get. And i own here almost 200 titles. That i BOUGHT.

I'm sure resorting to homphobic slurrs will win you this argument.

Oh, I'm sorry, it's a intentionally misspelled homphobic slurr. Now you've realy ran rings around us.
How the hell is bradley still on positive rep? Do people forget to derep him every time he opens his mouth?

Marioface5: I can't tell: Do you seriously believe that this account was made by GOG?
avatar
Prah: Why wouldn't it be? Why would anyone make a fake account called GOG.com AND put "Download the best classic and new games on Windows, Mac & Linux. A vast selection of titles, DRM-free, with free goodies and 30-day money-back guarantee." in their description?
Welcome to the internet young padawan

The more I think of this the more I find it a great idea, by the way...

It was okay to steal the car because it was a rental which mean I wasn't allowed to fully own it.
Might be genuine, might not. It wouldn't be the first time that the "industry" (for want of a better word) has stepped into the Torrent fray to find a more conciliatory tone than just sending in the lawyers. Jonatan Söderström (of Hotline Miami fame) did that and earned a lot of kudos for it.

I think it's helpful and important to understand that one pirate is not the same as the next.

Sure, there are hardcore pirates that have plenty of money and spent it on high-end hardware but refuse out of simple greed to pay for games, as they rationalise that games should be free.

Then there are those that have very little money so basically have a choice between paying for one very cheap game for a low-end system every few months and making that last or pirating games to continue to have something to play. Believe me, these people actually exist.

Then there are those that pirate to use games as a demo.

Then there are those that pirate games from developers and publishers who are viewed to be a blight on the gaming industry and are deemed to not be worthy of the money.

Make what you will out of these archetypes. I have my own views on them but I'm not here to express my judgement them. It's just about accepting that there is no one-size-fits-all moral judgement that can be imposed upon all pirates, and there's also no one-size-fits-all solution that works without unjustly punishing actual paying customers. Antagonise the hardcore career pirates and you'll just end up causing them to retaliate. Antagonise the low-earners and you'll basically ensure that you never see any of their limited funds again. Antagonise the demo users and you'll lose a sale from a customer that was actually interested.
