Hey guys,

If you read my review for the Ravenloft games, I may have lied to you, albeit unintentionally.

You see, I based my review on the version 1.2A of Strahd's Possession, that I own from the AD&D Masterpiece Collection.

However, it appears that GOG is, for some reason, selling version 1.2, which isn't nearly as stable & perfect as 1.2A

It's my own fault, I should've checked before I reviewed it, but it never crossed my mind they'd be selling an outdated version.

I have contacted them telling them I'm more than happy to provide them with an ISO of my CD. I hope the reason they have an earlier version is due to not being able to find the latest one, rather than some legal restriction mumbo jumbo.

Until then, I apologise for having induced anyone in error. It was not my intention.
Good on you m8! And even better for pointing out to GOG that its selling an older version.
Seems like GOG won't get an A for result, that's for sure.
+1 and cheers mate,

PS: That's not lying - one can't really lie unintentionally. You may have misled others. ;)

Found this:
http://www.oldgamesitalia.net/sites/default/files/images/news/Ravenloft_Strahd's_Possession_viene_patchato_/Ravenloft_Strahd__s_Possession_Patch_1.2a.rar

EDIT: According to the site, this patch works with any CD version of the game, but the author told me you need another one for the GOG version. You can find it here.

You can't accidentally lie to people... So you didn't lie to anyone... Therefore no forgiveness from the monkey is needed.
Keep calm and monkey on.

This is why I never post reviews based on non-GOG versions on the store pages but thanks and +1 for the extra info, it looks like the store dropped the ball here so don't beat yourself up over it.

The game (or at least the English version) has now been updated to 1.2a. No idea if the 1.2a patch was ever released for the German version.
The German 1.2 version works just as fine as the English 1.2A.

I suppose, or if reviewers would refrain from reviewing games that they haven't bought here.

At least in this case the OP is trying to clear things up.

I like your logic and it's a shame a lot of people here, don't even understand the word.

One step at a time, Hedwards. One step at a time. At least he has a good memory of playing the game and actually reviews it. That's a massive step up from the usual detritus.
