omega64: It has for me both with Uplay and Origin.
I've played Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon once, doesn't even start anymore.
zeroxxx: And it doesn't mean the DRM is the sole culprit. I've played Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon once, doesn't even start anymore.
Far Cry 3 itself didn't start at all. >_<
I wanted to finish it.

CharlesGrey: I know you like Steam, and probably don't mind other types of DRM, but is there any kind of DRM where you'd draw the line, so to speak, and refuse to purchase a game? Because, if your philosophy is basically to simply buy stuff anyway, no matter what kind of restrictions and strings publishers attach to their products ( hence approving of their actions, and asking for more ), we'll sooner or later reach a point where those games/products will no longer be "enjoyable". ( Arguably, we've already reached that point, at least for certain genres and publishers. )
Mostly when I can't play them... I did not get Settlers 7 before UBI patched out the always online requirement... I think that's the only game I stopped myself from getting due to DRM. But I just do my research and know what I am getting.
Frankly, I have loads more problems with physical mediums than with digital, so generally it has been a upturn swing the last 10 years, I enjoy my gaming more now than before.

low rated
mystikmind2000: The bottom line is this..... if everyone simply refused to buy the first games to come out with more unreasonable DRM elements, then it would have died out there and then.
Because when it comes to DRM, If you accept it, what you do is encourage more of it.
What would you say about this argument: Because when it comes to DRM, If you accept it, what you do is encourage more of it.
By buying games that are sold with DRM, you are encouraging the use of it, even if the particular copy of the game you want doesn't have the DRM. Do you agree with this stance, or do you think it is flawed?

omega64: I can't imagine what else it could be, Uplay keeps saying updating, when the game did start it hanged on the loading screen due to some internet issue or whatever the game told me.
Far Cry 3 itself didn't start at all. >_<

I can sympathize with your issue. I know how it feels being unable to finish the game you want to finish for whatever reason. The only solution I can suggest is to download cracked copy and try if it runs on your machine. Far Cry 3 itself didn't start at all. >_<
I wanted to finish it.
Yeah. I raged once when my disc got scratched and it just flat out refused to load in the CD ROM. -.-

How do you resist buying your wishlisted games from DRM stores? For example, you really like a game and only Steam sells it. And developer-publisher does not release it on GOG or as DRM-free. So how do you deal with it?

I buy other games. :P Seriously though if I really want a game and only Steam sells it I just eventually buy it.
Same with Origin and Uplay.

I don't have a problem with DRM. I prefer my games DRM-free too but if I really want to play a game I buy it (DRM or DRM-free). I only refuse to buy always online single player games. No game was good enough for me to cross this line. I'm online 24/7 anyway but that doesn't mean I have to be online to play a single player game.

As I know, most of current boxed/retail version still needs Steam client. I think it's hard to find non-Steam version of new releases. Many people can't resist, even DRM-free supporters. :D

I refuse to buy Calypso games due to their launcher.
Might eventually buy them here.
I'm just so tired of constantly making accounts.

Per my policy, :D I prefer to buy from GOG. But I can't abandon Steam. For me, there is no reason to not buy my favorite games from there. When I like a game, I must play it.I refuse to buy Calypso games due to their launcher.
Might eventually buy them here.
