amok: I refuse to let DRM stop me from enjoying my games

Strict enough?

hummer010: Me too. I mean, of course I prefer DRM free, otherwise, I wouldn't be here. For the right price though, I'll buy a DRM'ed version. Sometimes, if it's a good enough game, I'll re-buy DRM-free (if it exists).

DreamedArtist: I still have a copy of adobe elements 8 that is DRM Free with cd code to just activate the product Offline like oldschool games and that works on windows 10 and DOES Wonders still with editing pictures, <3 always love that program till the day it officially stops working

hummer010: GIMP most likely does everything Elements 8 does and more, and not only is it DRM free, it's open source. Also runs on Windows 10.
But gimp man... that interface and ugh I don't want to sound like a bitch but god damn it's annoying and does not offer the experience that adobe does.. or maybe that is cause I used photoshop all my life and moving to something else is almost impossible for me :/
I no longer let DRM or a lack of DRM get in my way of having fun. I'll buy games on Steam if need be
high rated
My stance is so strict, I refuse to buy any games with the letters D, R or M anywhere in the title! For example Legend of Grimrock or Redneck Rampage.

They don't even necessarily need to be in the same order, which is why I have never played any of the Wing Commander or Medal of Honor series, Grim Fandango or anything by Sid Meier.
That's pretty damn strict.

dtgreene: Actually, I have an Intel HD 4000 series card that doesn't require a binary blob.
Actually Intel loads the gpu blob by itself during the post, unlike amd and nvidia.

And recent versions started to rely on external loading.
I just put the DRM infected games to the bottom of my (chronological) play list, so it's mostly an academic question for me.
As long as steam has forced updates and as long as I don't have a strong internet connection, I won't be using steam.

Breaking my Xcom with an auto update, forcing me to download the entire 30gb Empire: Total War when I bought the disk. Not acceptable.

I'll do you one better: No DLC/IAP.

^^^ same as above!

dtgreene: For me:
* I will not buy anything with DRM
* I will not buy anything from a store that provides its own DRM
* I will buy DRM-free games when there exists a superior DRM-encumbered version
* I will buy DRM-free games when there exists an equivalent DRM-encumbered version

Is there anyone here that is more strict than me? In particular, is there anyone here who will refuse to buy any game that happens to be available on Steam, even if it is available elsewhere DRM-free?
Just to be clear, are you saying that you would refuse to buy a game like Fallout because it is also available on Steam? If so, then it is definitely stricter than my standard. If not, I would say it is in line with the way I go about it.
Stricter:

- DRM-free
- Suck-free

; )

But really, I don't care about serial numbers that are checked by the installer without going online. At that point, it's not really DRM (IMO) since they give you the key to install it and it's simply up to you to not lose it. As soon as it requires an online check to install or to play each time, that's my line. Certain game mechanics do require it (such as leader boards for online play) and I can live with that. Er, could live with it if I played those types of game.

HereForTheBeer: - Suck-free
If there is no suck, I'm outta here.
Who wouldn't accept a drm free BJ?
