Being a fan of adventure games I was checking out GameBoomers list of all time greatest adventure games and see this game rated very high. I see it is on steam and is very highly rated. I looked in the wishlist on GOG and it has 95 votes.

Wondering if anyone has played it and if so what were your impressions?
Average-to-good. A basic cliché adventure game, indy-inspired. Neo-adventure in the sense that it features all the aspects of the more casual adventure games of today (in particular, the show-me-all-the-hotspots key, that avoids both pixelhunting and reflexion, as it puts you in some auto-combine mindset).

So, not glorious, but okay enough for modern adventure gamers. I would recommend it. Simply not with the same enthousiasm as I would recommend a classic (like Syberia, etc).

It's, I'd say, almost as good as Broken Sword, and quite similar.

Thanks for your comments!
Does it have anything to do with the book and movie because those would actually make an interesting adventure game.

As far as I know from playing the demo, someone gets lost in the himalayan mountains under suspicious circumstances amidst a tense political situation. That someone happens to be an old friend of yours, you reach an aquaintance and after realizing you won't get any help you decide to take the matter in your own hands............and so the story begins!

It must be based on the book then.
Thanks

Uh, honestly, I really think it isn't.

just noticed this topic :D

i have the game, its a weird way of playing but most scenes are playable for me, got it on a sale, unfortunately it had drm...

also bought lost horizon 2 it seems to run on my pc with 1gb videoram (says it needs 2) , but the game is far from optimised: gpu heats up to 66-70 degrees celsius and cpu aswell, its programmed badly, or maybe a bad engine or so.
temps keep rising and rising, a very bad game.

check attachment: lh2_badperforman.png

hwmonitor shows high temp readings, and they keep going up, so i had to close the game, it was running in a 640x480 window, with all options set to minimum and still the game does not perform and only heats things up...
i guess you need a super pc , with lots of cpu fans and coolers in order to run this game without the risk of burning the pc down... its a terrible unoptimised engine the game uses (seems like unity or so)
Total waste of money to buy Lost Horizon 2 even 2 dollars would be too much... i have seen bad games which try to turn your pc into a barbeque, but sofar this game is the worst.
There is a folder with unit file in it...

check unityfiles.png

LH 1 plays much smoother and uses less cpu and gpu.
