Hi, The other day I remembered a funny thing from an old Amiga game i used to play.... but i dont remember the name of the game?

You play the roman empire and have to take over the Mediterranean province by province. You can do so with diplomacy or a roman legion - the Legion is of course more fun! The enemy to fear was the Scyth (something like that)

A) There are these chariot races you can do (optional) in the game to make money

B) the funny part is that when someones chariot brakes apart the stretcher bearers come out and sometimes throw the body over the stretcher and walk off with an empty stretcher leaving the body on the track. For me, that joke never got old, always cracked me up!

C) I wanted to see if i could find a clip of that on YouTube, just for laughs, but since i cannot remember the name of the game, no chance of that!

D) Possibly find the game that works on windows 10 (fat chance i know)?

Never heard of the game but your post made me want to see the chariot crash joke, too! :)

Here's a video of the chariot crash (It's the first race.)
It's got no sound for some reason but it does have the stretcher joke.

Just came here to tell that at least according to the "Roland MT-32 compatible games" list online, the PC version of Centurion supports Roland MT-32 for audio (along with Adlib). :) Good old Electronic Arts, they supported MT-32 quite well from the beginning.

According to the list, you must start the game with "centurion.exe roland" to enable the MT-32 audio, and of course you also have to have either a real or emulated Roland MT-32 (like Munt, or a DOSBox version with built-in Roland support) to hear the heavenly glorious Roland MT-32 music.

Yeah, I took "extremely old Amiga game" to mean it was from the beginning of Amiga's existence, like from 1986-1989 or somesuch. According to Mobygames the Amiga version was made in 1991 (PC version 1990), so... I had already sold my Amiga 500 by then, and moved to PC games!

So in my books, it is a new Amiga game. :)

Looks like a pretty damn sweet game if you ask me. well new discovery and hopefully I can find a way to try this out.

I didn't know this game, but it looks like something I would have loved to play back in the day. Definitely would make a fine addition to GOG.

And it's still highly playable today. At least the real-time strategy bits (the action games are perhaps the weakest point in the game).

The first computers i ever saw (about 37 years ago) were apple computers of some kind? green monochrome screens at school - i was not at all impressed by these garbage and as a result i never took an interest in computers.

A few years later one of my friends started talking about his dads 'Amiga' ..... i said "what is an Amiga?" He said its like a continuation of the commodore 64.... of course everyone knows what a commodore 64 was, even if you never owned one, so i was very surprised i never heard of an Amiga?? (But as i found out years later, that was their business plan, develop a great product, not market it properly, then go out of business).

So i ended up going around to my friends place and started playing games on his dads Amiga ..... OMG the color! THE COLOR!!! from that point on i was hooked on computers!!!!

The Amiga computer was extremely popular in western Europe. While it was almost completely unknown in the USA and other places.
Whereas the C64 was known in the States it was never popular in Europe, except maybe in Germany where it was probably introduced by the american army forces stationed there. In my country I never heard of anyone owning a C64 (even though we knew it existed). And I think the same applies to Spain.

The Amiga computer had several versions (A500, A600 and A1200). Again, despite its popularity, the fact that it lacked an hard-drive (the strong point of IBM-PCs), that PCs had a VGA palette, and that sound cards began to appear, ultimately led to its downfall.

My historical recollections may be a bit blurred, so sorry for any blunders.
