Just wondering how many of you guys play Euro Truck Simulator 2 either with the muliplayer mod or just the singleplayer.

I've got like 83 hours on it I believe and love every moment.

Just single player.
Only 83 hours? Man you need to start playing it at work, when you're bored.

haha, I'm a student so that's probably not good. And I just find that sometimes the long haul is pretty hard to do as I have ADD.

What kinda truck do you got?

Single player here. I just finished trying out that new World of Trucks contract feature, which seems a little pointless at the moment.

A shitty Iveco, I just like to roleplay a Lithuanian truck driver.

Maybe next game I'll play a Polish truck driver with a DAF

I've got 60 hours or so worth of gameplay. Drive an Iveco, but saving up for a new one, perhaps a Scania.
I haven't touched the multiplayer, only the single-player.

Its a shame ETS2 looks to be the last to be DRM-free, from what I've read American Truck Simulator will be a Steam exclusive. However I still have a tonne of stuff to do in ETS2, plus a backlog with Extreme Trucker 2 and American Long Haul.

Single player here, with a mere 72hrs on it. I last played a bit when the Scandinavia DLC came out, and I've been focused on other games since then.

Really need to pick it back up at some point.

350 hours of single player. I don't think I could handle multiplayer I have enough with the fucking useless AI drivers crashing into each other, not knowing how roundabouts work or randomly stopping in the middle of an intersection when turning across traffic.

Checking my main character (280 hours) has only been 48 days in game time, yet I have 200 million euros in the bank and the costs of garages and truck repair from trying to get the perfect screenshot of the jump on the arch bridge in northern England. I did not realise trucking was so lucrative.

Truckwise I like both Renaults because they have big windscreens which means a better view.

You know you could be driving the real thing and making some money, right? :P

To be honest, i was interested in ETS 2 but the absence of a DRM-free version killed the interest for me. Same with SpinTires. Where can i buy it DRM-free? I thought it was a Steam exclusive.

Yeah, i still have to buy the Scandinavia and the High Power Cargo Pack DLC's . My fingers crossed for a decent price in the Steam sales.

Also did not know about the DRM-free version...Which begs the question..why don't we have the game on GOG?!:)

Big apologies, I should have been more accurate, I was too busy complaining: the "DRM-free" version requires a one-time activation code. So its not 100% DRM-free !

You can buy this version of the game directly from SCS Software or buy the PC CD retail version (remember to buy it new if you choose this option, as the activation codes are useless otherwise). Also, the Scandinavia DLC in retail version still requires Steam.

Be aware that there is a 'Digital Download Card' retail version, I'm unclear whether this requires Steam or not.
I bought the retail version named Eurotruck Simulator 2 Gold, which can be played offline,...except for the one-time activation.

I have bought other games from SCS, 18 Wheels of Steel Extreme Trucker 2 and American Long Haul, but these are sold through Valusoft in digital version.

Mind you, ETS2 is considerably more expensive if you buy the non-Steam version.

I've got an unused Humble Bundle code for ETS2 if you don't care about using Steam or not, I think the code should still be valid.

When it comes to DRM I usually just refer to the online sort. My physical copy from Excalibur publishing on Amazon contains a product code but it didn't need to be connected to the Internet (I disconnected in advance to be sure), and its still a few pounds cheaper than the Steam version.

Hmm... I'd still prefer a 100% DRM-free version to be honest so I'll pass for now (unless they decide to release it on GOG of course).

Also, thanks for offering the Steam key, that's very kind of you, but I'm afraid I'll have to decline as I'm not interested in Steam anymore. I bought some games on Steam previously, but I don't want to support DRM anymore by buying more games for them, not even redeeming gift codes (although there was only one exception with CK II that I'm waiting to arrive here someday hopefully). I just keep my account in offline mode just to play 2 or 3 games and that's all.

Anyway, ETS 2 looks like a very interesting simulation game packed with lot's of content (so it clearly deserves it's price I guess) and I hope someday will find its way to GOG. :)
