Except that Fallout 3 is STILL crash prone, all these years and patches later, that I had to use an UNofficial patch to fix. It's not a stereotype if it's the truth. If we're going to hold WB, Ubisoft and Obsidian responsible for buggy/glitchy products, Bethesda doesn't get a free pass either, ESPECIALLY considering their "veteran" status in the industry.

I would be excited if it was DRM free. If it didn't cost so much for a digital download. If it scam me on Season passes micro transactions nonsense. Seriously what the hell is a season pass? Is that like subscription for single player game?

AAA brands to date are shit. expensive broken and garbage on release date. I'll stick to classics here on gog and kickstarter possibilities that show more promise than AAA brand crap.

But I understand. AAA games are the new Digital drug.. Younglings need there next fix. :P

They did fix that problem for the OS it was made for.

Obsidian and Bethesda are equally as guilty, and I say that as an Obsidian fan. I have no idea why Bethesda always gets a free pass, considering their history going all the way back to Arena/Daggerfall.

I'm cautiously hopeful. I personally loved Fallout 1 & 2 and even liked Fallout Tactics. Fallout 3 was okay. My reservations are largely due to Skyrim and Fallout 3 having been so shallow. It isn't helped by the lack of a demo and actual game play demonstrations (I haven't seen many, but I haven't done bunches of looking), which makes we wonder if they are covering up something. I really like the setting, but I don't have a lot of faith that Bethesda will be able to overcome the inherent challenges that bringing depth to an open world brings as they did poorly with Fallout 3 & Skyrim.

Who gives them a free pass exactly? Clearly they don't if you look at the grumpy bums in this topic.

I would consider consistent crashing as something that lessens "playability."

I'd rather have a crash every 5/6 hours then a constant 10fps.

How playable is a game in which quests are constantly getting broken and there are bugs that lead to permanent progress loss? Sure, I can start Skyrim but I've had to abandon tons of quests because the quest NPC froze completely and couldn't be reset, quest npcs have disappeared, etc. Plus permanent progress stopping bugs (without the console) like being stuck in a dungeon because the door broke or because a hallway blocking trap reset and then broke.

Oh, and I had to install fan patches to get Fallout 3 to work. Period. It would not work at all without the fan patches.

Going off of past history, I thought I'd get the Obsidian stuff out of the way because it usually does get brought up haha.

Really excited, but I dont treat this game like a fallout successor. Makes it much easier to accept whatever bethesda is doing to do with it.
Little worried about mods. Bethesda is going to try another time after their paid mods fiasco.
Well anyway - we are not getting it any time soon. I will try my best not to get "liberated" version :sad:
probably will watch full game performed by one of my favorite streamers

I'd like to see a proper paid mod setup which to me means a donation button on every mods page with maybe a kickstarter type thing to pay for more ambitious efforts by proven modders.

As for the game it'll be interesting to see where Bethesda is focused in this edition but other than that I'm left with those wondering if I'll ever get to buy Bethesda's more recent games.
