fallout 4 sucks.
Not really.

Fallout 3 was a game that I didn't enjoy until I turned my brain off and treated it as a "walk around and fight things" simulator, and even then I didn't enjoy it too much. The writing, quests, world, voice acting, soundtrack, etc etc were all rather poor to me.

Skyrim was an improvement in every area over Fallout 3 in my opinion, but again I generally have to treat Skyrim as a "walk around and fight things while looking at pretty scenery" simulator to enjoy it.

I might end up picking up Fallout 4 when it's the Game of the Year edition just because I'm a sucker for open world games, but I'm not exactly hyped or exciting for it.

Edit: I highly enjoyed Fallout: New Vegas but I doubt Bethesda will take any lessons from it, so I'm not including it as a reason why I might/won't enjoy Fallout 4.

I'm excited but I really like to see something like Fallout 2 again, a spiritual successor or clone with similar gameplay and wasteland setting.

doomdoom11: I'm excited, but also skeptical at the same time considering how big of a step back Skyrim was.

The story campaign was such a let down in Skyrim - so short and underwhelming.
I think a lot of people went straight to the mods than touch the main campaign. I know i had more fun with the mods :)
I am and I'd buy it right off the bat if I had money.

There were leaks. It was a big to do on /v/ and Neogaf, apparently. There was certainly a lot of expressed disappointment, but the main thing was people saying that once it's modded, it'll be much better.
I didn't read the spoilers, but I'm planning on waiting until there's a sale and patches. Lots of patches. I know better than to ever buy anything at launch from Bethesda. :/

LesterKnight99: YES! Very excited. Cannot wait to endlessly hoard things XD

Seriously, though, i'm very excited to play through the Wasteland again.

doomdoom11: minus 70 rep...nuff said. : P
Not my fault, that's due to scammers neg-repping me after I called them out on their BS. I was at 25 positive rep before.

What i meant was collecting everything from every sort of container in every part of a level. I just can't help but do that whenever the opportunity arises in Fallout 3 and New Vegas.

Such an over used line. If only their games were actually THAT glitchy. Compare their games to the state that Batman, Assassin's Creed when they came out, Oblivion, Skyrim and Fallout 3 were in good working order.
Nope, not at all. No interest either.

I'll wait for the next Wasteland by inXile or post apocalyptic RPG from either Obsidian or other devs.
I would have been looking forward to it since I enjoyed Fallout 2 (Have yet to play Fallout New Vegas and 3, but I do own them and getting around to playing those), except that my computer likely won't be able to run the game, and I'm not upgrading till it breaks down for good.
I'm excited for it, just probably won't play it. I don't use Steam, so PC is out unless lightning strikes twice and we somehow end up with a GOG version. I'm also not going to spend 400 bucks on a brand new PS4 just to play Fallout 4 and have a really expensive Blu-Ray player. Like so many other games, I'll just have to watch other people play while I get older and cranky and scream at console gamers to get off my lawn.

Eh, not really. I only bought Oblivion, Fallout 3 and Skyrim when they were GOTY edition, long after the last official patch was released for them. I still constantly find bugs, often the kind of bug that breaks a quest and occasionally some that would kill my entire playthrough if not for fan fixes and the console. Everything I've read suggests they were much much MUCH worse on launch.

Oh and yes, I know I know, Obsidian is worse, Obsidian fanboys, Obsidian is da debil, New Vegas sucked, Bethesda is literally the most underrated dev ever and are unfairly picked on and flawless, etc etc. There, got that out of the way for ya.
