Just a quick check in, I have had exactly one bsod since switching cpu's, and after researching the memory dump, it was related to the graphics card. The 5700 XT is impressive in a not so good way with how massive it is for the actual performance it has. It takes up 3 bays on my motherboard and has weaker performance than a 1080ti, which takes up 1 1/2 to 2 and is actually 30% faster.

Crazy. Anyway I'm looking into going back to Nvidia for my GPU solution. If I do, it'll be used kit, nothing new. I don't have an extra $600-800 to blow on a gpu.
Isn't your 5700 XT an XFX model, or maybe I confuse you with someone else? I remember the XFX models for the 5700(XT) were not very good, there were some problems with them, poor cooling or something. They made some revisions afterwards.

I have a Sapphire 5700 XT and had very few problems with it. Two, or three times had a crash or system freeze. Once the weird colours when updating the driver. And 4-5 times the black screen, which I discovered myself that can be solved by unplugging and re-plugging the video cable, so no need for pushing the reset button - but I did a restart from Windows, just to be sure. But all that was in the beginning, when the drivers were not that good, last problem being in June or July 2020. That said, the system is not my daily driver, just using it for offline gaming.

On forums, youtube comments, I've seen that people usually recommend to stick with Sapphire or PowerColor for AMD GPUs. Nowadays, it seems that XFX have improved a lot with the 6000 series Radeons, but personally I'll go with a Sapphire for my next video card, and only after checking some trusted reviews from Gamers Nexus, Hardware Unboxed or TechPowerUp, mainly to see how the thermals are for that model.
Hmmm might as well chime in.

My newest rig uses says a Ryzen 7 5700G. Completely unstable until the Motherboard got updated to the newest BIOS/Flash, and since it's been working.

Nice running effectively 16 cores.

I'm waiting for a 7000 series Apu to dual with a price crashed 3080 once the rtx 4000 series starts rolling out if they aren't price competitive for performance gain.
I mean if you're not waiting for technologies perfect storm of DDR5 Ryzen 7000 RTX 4000 and the motherboards with updated basically everything... well your gonna have a bad time. :P

I do have an XFX and it's a RAW II which is 3 bays wide and has generally bad reviews. I'm looking at getting a 1080ti from a friend used, he has no interest in my 5700 XT.

When I bought it I thought "Oh cool, I'm saving $100 off a 2060" and didn't have any idea how much of a bad time it would be...

If I remember right, the AMD 5000 GPUs need firmware/BIOS updates due to severe problems. Check the manufacturer's website.

what problem?

Causes: Sudden Black Screen Crash Relate to Insufficient Rams Stability / Power.

Sudden BSOD Crash Relate to Insufficient CPU Stability / Power / Something Else Depends on the Event ID Number.

sounds fun , nearly as much as using linux

My next pc will probably be a AMD pc with the newer ryzen cpu'and gpu. Along with DDR5 when it gets a little better. so maybe Q1 2023.

DDR5 is going to be expensive for a while I'm afraid.
